Question about Dell InspironTM 1501 Notebook

1 Answer

Phantom Key Issue

An unknown key is constantly being typed about every 2-3 seconds.

(It is a key that is unable to be entered into text)

It hinders me from playing a certain game and only that one.

If I open a program such as narrator, it will just say "Unknown Key, Unknown Key, Unknown Key, Unknown Key." Ect ect.

It has been happening for quiet some time now.

It started to happen about 4-5 days after I received my laptop.

I'm on Vista Home Basic also.

This bug happens because on some machines (laptops) the keyboard key with the code “e02a” is for the hibernate key or perhaps another one is actuating with in the psftware pr may even be stuck all togerther. try using an external keybaord to see if you can overide the internal keyboard this maybe helpful at least to diagnose what it is you are doing since an older keyboard is hardware and doesn't have "unknown" keys so to speak

Careful disassymbly of your keyboard would be your best alternative, clean it then check the function if it is still giving you trouble you will need to locate a used one for replacement.
I know thats NOT what you wanted to hear but anything else is a temporary solution at best.

Easy way to empty trash on a Mac when it tells your files are in use.

Ever try to empty your trash on your Mac and the system gives you an error telling you that a file in the trash can is in use and it will not allow you to get rid of it no matter what you try? Well, here's a little trick to help you get around this.

1. Open up terminal and type "sudo nano .bash_profile" and input your administrator password. This will allow you to view and edit this text file. We are going to use this to create an alias.

2. Click inside the terminal window to take control of an active cursor and use your arrow keys to move around. Type alias emptytrash='rm -rf ~/.Trash/*' into the window. Be sure to type the command exactly as shown otherwise you may end up deleting something you didn't intend to.

4. Press the "Control" key plus the "O" key to write the text out to the file and press enter to accept the default file name.

5. Press the "Control" key plus the "X" key to exit.

6. Close the terminal window.

Now any time you run into the issue of being unable to empty your trash due to stuck files, you can just open up terminal and type "emptytrash" and hit enter. Doing so will automatically run the 'rm -rf ~/.Trash/*' command and clean out your trash can for you, regardless of what is in there.

A video tutorial can be found here at the bottom of this tip.
I hope this helps!

Blackberry 7290 unlock proceedures

Hello.
I think I see your problem.
The 'mepd' must be uppercase. Hold the shift key down while typing in the MEPD.
Once you get into the area that shows what limitations are active or disabled, then you must use the Alt. Option key on the fare left third row of keys down. Holding the Alt. Options key, type MEP then release the Alt. Option key and press 2.
You should now be prompted to enter the unlock code. If not, start from where you had the last correct results. Also, If it will not work, back all the way out to the memo icon and try the keys you need to type to insure all of the keys are working and you are not fighting a temperamental key switch.
Good luck in your quest.
If you still need more help, just ask.
