There is either something inside of your Wii's DVD Drive blocking the insertion of the disc, or some of the gears inside of the DVD drive are damaged. Lots of times, one of the kids will stuff a penny, credit card, or some other foreign object inside of the Wii's disc slot. The following website sells the DVD drive mechanisms and does repairs on the Wii as well:

The Wii will not read my disc

Situation:

The Wii console will not accept game discs or the discs are ejecting immediately

What To Do:

Press the eject button on the front of the console. The console will not accept any discs if there is already a disc inserted, and it is common to forget that a disc was already inserted.
If the system still won't accept discs, or if the discs are immediately ejected, this indicates a problem with the mechanism that pulls the discs into the system and the Wii will need to be repaired. To begin the repair process, click here.

Noise

Hi Linda,
Sounds like clutch problems, try to move the lever for carpet/floor back and forth a few times maybe it will free up. If it still makes the grinding noise, the clutch assembly will have to be replaced. Let me know, i can even walk you through the repair if needed.

I think my son has put something in the wii as it was working fine but now when i insert a disc it makes a buzzing noise and ejects the disc???

you may need to get a trigram screwdriver to undo the funny screws in the wii and take a look, mine had a piece of paper in it and it sometimes stopped discs coming out.

Wii unable to accept/eject disc making buzzing sound

  • When the disks were put in/taken out the little plastic clips in side the wii may have broken off. Might be stuck near the motor. Gently shake while rotating the the wii with all the cords off with no game inside. listen for anything loose. If your lucky the piece will go to another part of the wii. Best thing is to find someone to take it apart to check.
