Only with special software that usually only computer pros have. If you did not take any more pictures and "write over" the ones you deleted, then they are still there; just "lost", i.e., there is no longer a marker to tell the camera or PC where they are. With the marker deleted the camera thinks the space is free. Get it? This is the case with a regular hard drive, anyway.

A computer repair pro can usually retrieve the data if it's critical to you, but it may cost you $100. I would call a local computer repair shop and ask them. There are places listed on the internet that does this but I cannot vouch for any of them and it's pretty impersonal.

How do i delete photos from a nikon d 60 digital camera

To delete individual pictures, press the trashcan button while viewing the picture, then confirm.
To delete all pictures, format the memory card. FixYa is full of people asking how to retrieve pictures from cards that hadn't been formatted recently.
The format command is in the setup menu. Full details are in the "Formatting Memory Cards" section of the manual (page 24 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one here.

If she only deleted them instead of formatting them, there are expensive software programs that can retrieve the pictures providing you didn't keep adding more pictures to the card.

I have a SanDisk 1.0 GB memory card in the camera, which has been working just fine. I just deleted all the photos off of it, and the camera indicates "No Image", BUT when I try to take pictures it says...

Try formatting (not erasing) the card in your camera to rejuvenate it. Press "menu" button, then select the tools menu. Then scroll down to the selection stating your card's capacity and select it. Select "Low Level" format if offered. This will also totally erase your card, so do this after saving any important images to your computer.

Lost pictures

You may have never formatted your memory card. This can eventually lead to errors like you're experiencing. First download all available pictures from the card. Next turn on the camera in preview mode. Press the menu button, then select the "tools" menu (second one from left). Go down the menu to the menu item stating your memory card's capacity and select it. Next select "Yes" to format. Note that this will also totally erase your card, so again make sure to FIRST download your pictures.

Help

Hi,

Yes and in several methods as below listed. Since your posting refers to a generic problem for all digital cameras and not only an Olympus FE-230, some of the settings may have a different nomenclature or button name.
1. When you download pictures to you PC, rather than copy, select move; or
2. If you want to erase one picture at a time from the camera - press on the power button, then menu button, once menu is displayed, arrow down/up, you will be asked to erase the picture displayed, select yes/no by up/down, then press OK (menu button); or
3. If you want to erase all contents of the memory card of the camera - press on the power button, then menu button, once menu is displayed, arrow right, down to select card, right to select card setup, right to enter card setup, arrow down to select format or erase all, OK. Erase all just erases the files, format erases all and re-initialize the memory card; or
4. Remove memory card from camera and insert into a memory card reader attached to USB of your PC. The memory from the camera will be treated as a removable device and you can view, move, copy, delete/erase, format. This option seems to be most effective in viewing all contents under Windows Explorer with the view setting set to Thumbnail.
5. Connect the camera via the supplied cable to any USB port of your PC. The camera will be treated as a removable device and you can view, move, copy, delete/erase, format. This option seems to be most effective in viewing all contents under Windows Explorer with the view setting set to Thumbnail.

Specifically for an Olympus FE-230:
1. Press the < or > buttons to display the picture you want to erase;
2. Press the trash can button (bottom right);
3. Press the UP button to select [YES], press OK;

or

To erase all:
1. Press the MENU button to display the top menu in playback mode;
2. Select [ERASE], [ALL ERASE], and press OK;
3. Select [YES], and press OK

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Pentax optio E10 digital camera

If you haven't done anything to the card since formatting it then you may be able to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.

Cards not working with camera

If you used the SD/MMC memory card in another brand of camera or device, you may need to format the card in your new EasyShare digital camera. (You may have noticed a "Memory Card Needs Formatting" message when you inserted the card.) CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card. To format the SD/MMC memory card or the internal memory of the camera: Transfer images to the computer before formatting the memory card. Press the camera Menu button. Highlight SETUP MENU, and then press the OK button. Highlight FORMAT, and then press the OK button. Highlight an option - MEMORY CARD (deletes everything on the card), CANCEL (exits without formatting), or INTERNAL MEMORY (deletes everything in internal memory). Press the OK button. Highlight Continue, and then press the OK button. Wait until formatting is finished before removing the card. When formatting is complete, the SETUP MENU is displayed. Press the Menu button to exit the menu.
