Depending on the model you may have a reset point on the selector switch dial.
This is usually indicated by 2 or 3 black dots on the dial.
If it has , then switch the m/c off, set the dial to one of these points, switch on and wait until light fashes, switch off, and reselect your programme.
It should now work normally.
If it does not, then there is probably a control board fault.
If there is no reset point, then again it is likely to be a control board fault.

Thankyou.

Maytag LAT8426AAM agitator only works in delicate cycle

Best guess is a timer contact problem, usually caused by advancing the timer by hand without pushing the dial in to stop the machine first. This causes burnt contacts.

Indeset we16, has power door wont lock or start cycle but timer counts down

Fault with the lock mechanism as the lock switch seems to work and so starts the cycle to count down.
Check if the solenoid to the lock is activated from the panel control or it can be that the lock is defective.

My washing machine was working fine then i set a load to soak and now it will not drain when i turn on the machine it just makes a ticking sound i tested the outlets and the button for the lid what esle...

The ticking sound is most likely the timer counting down, but is the dial progressing or not. But the ticking does tell you that you have power to the timer.

Before you start tearing into the machine, suggest you try different cycles to see if the problem is on all cycles or just the one you are on.

My washing machine washes and then stops at the rinse cycle...but you can hear tick, tick, tick...and then the dial moves but the clothes don't get washed! Same for the spin cycle. If I push in the dial...

if it keeps sticking in the same place and then if you advance the timer past that point and it runs again the points are burnt out in the timer and it needs to be peplaced.a new timer is around 90 dollars and the part number is 8546165.when you call your parts store give them the full model number off of the machine to make sure it's the correct part number, you're missing a number and letter at the end,the number i looked up was LSQ9549Lg3

I have an Electrolux EWD1477. I have been away for four months and I'm having problems with it. I set to do the quickwash30 program and press start, you hear the clicks, it might put some water in then...

My EWD1477 was doing this a year ago and I fixed it. Then it started doing it again a month ago and I seem to have cleared it again.

Firstly, remove the drain hose from where it is inserted into a laundry sink hole to make sure it is not blocked or sealed in with sludge.

Secondly, make sure the machine is empty of water and clothes and then turn the machine to off with the Program Selector Dial. Then turn off the power at the socket and remove the power plug and leave for five minutes.

Step 1: put the plug back in and turn the power back on.

Step 2: turn the selector switch to the right (Whites/Intensive). The green light of the Start/Pause button should be flashing and the green lights on for Prewash/wash, Rinses and Spinning. Don't press any other buttons or change any other settings.

Step 3: press the Start/Pause button and wait for the machine to empty any excess water. Press it again immediately after you hear water flowing into the machine OR two audible clicks. The machine is now in pause mode with the green light of the Start/Pause button flashing. Only the green light on the Prewash/Wash button should be on. Leave it in pause mode for 30 minutes and then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Step 4: If the Start/Pause button begins flashing, water stops flowing into the machine and the three green lights mentioned above are back on, turn the Program Selector Dial back to off, wait 10 seconds, and repeat the process above.

Step 5: If when you then turn the Program Selector Dial to Whites/Intensive and hear the two audible clicks, immediately press the Start/Pause button to set the machine in pause mode. Wait 30 minutes. Then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Hopefully the cycle will run without a problem.

Power surge - washing machine Not turning on.

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • GE/ lg washer
    Primary Method---Newer models
  1. Step 1 Unplug the washer.
  2. Step 2 Twist the control dial around the cycle settings.
  3. Step 3 Place the dial on any setting other than the final spin.
  4. Step 4 Ensure that the water line is securely attached to the washer.
  5. Step 5 Plug the washer back into the wall (making sure it has gone at least 30 seconds without power).
  6. Alternate Method---Older Machines
  7. Step 1 Turn the dial around the cycle settings, but do not lift it to start the cycle.
  8. Step 2 Unplug the washer.
  9. Step 3 Plug the washer into the wall after 30 seconds without power.
  10. Step 4 Lift the washer lid five times, making sure it reaches a height of at least 6 inches or more. There should be no more than a 15-second interval between lifts.
  11. Step 5 Listen for a clicking noise. If a click is not heard, repeat steps 1 to 5 until you hear it.
  12. Step 6 Place a small load of laundry into the washer and start the cycle.
  13. Step 7 Watch the load throughout the wash to ensure the washer is working properly.

Our Nautilus dishwasher won't turn on. I can hear a buzzing noise, but nothing is happening. Does anyone now what I should do?

The same thing happens with my dishwasher. I have made it work by doing the following. When you start up the cycle, turn the dial to just a tick before "start." If you hear the buzzing, but no water is running, unlock and then lock the dishwasher door again. This usually gets it running. If it's still not running water, unlock, advance the dial a little bit, and lock again. This should work. You need to be around for the early parts of the dishwashing cycle because this machine tends to stop up and buzz without running water until it gets past "short wash." Every time this happens, do the same thing, unlock and lock, and advance the dial a little when necessary. Once you get past "short wash," it should complete the wash without intervention.

Indesit W101 Washing Machine - I select program, machine start to fill with water, then the on light goes out, pump starts working, light flashes 8 times then dial start clicking round?

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
