Priner will not work at all. keeps saying trouble comunicating with printer we have made sure all the printing settings are correst and it still wont work. we think it might b because we are running windows vista home premium and we need a new driver but am unsure how to download it off the internet...

My Lexmark X1195 does not seem to be allowing the copying/scanning and all in one centre to function with my new Vista Home Premium system.

    AIOCexe
    Error message says
LXBKaiox.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point ?GetProductPrefix@LxkProduct@@SA?AVCString@@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library lxbkutil.dll.

I click OK and then get a Microsoft Windows box that says AIOC exe has stopped working and it offers to Check online for a solution and close the program OR to Close the program.
I click Check online etc and it thinks and then appears simply to close the program as I continue to have the problem.

This has occurred since I started using Vista Home Premium and I have already downloaded and reinstalled the printer drivers.
I can print from word processing programmes but I can't get the copying or scanning function to work.

Same for me. I have a laptop with Vista Ultimate (new ... 3 days old) and All-in-One X1150 Lexmark won't work. I have the CD but didn't work for Vista. Downloaded the drivers from Lexmark, installed OK as far as the icons like it did in Windows XP but when I click on the All-in-One button, I get that error too. I had nothing in the print Q, I even stopped the Print Spooler in Services and restarted it, restarted the laptop twice (with scanner on and scanner off) and still the same. Uninstall and reinstall didn't do anything. Updated the driver directly from Device Manager...still the same. Desabled Windows Firewall, rebooted and again the same.

And I get the identical message.

    The procedure entry point

?GetProductPrefix@LxkProduct@@SA?AVCString@@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library lxbkutil.dll.

I guess I'll have to contact Lexmark.

I have exactly the same problem with the same error message appearing when I click on the Lexmark printer icon. I did install the drivers for Vista and have been able to print but I've been unable to do anything else, including use the scanner or copier.

The books for most printers are so useless to us they may as well be burnt. I get fed up with useless info. Very rarely of help. My first suggestion if you are running the correct driver for your OP, and your printer was previously fine, is to check if the printer queue is blocked up with too much memory from print jobs.
Go to the quick launch icon in task bar at bottom of your screen, right click on the printer icon, and bring up printer jobs window, scroll down to cancel print jobs. Now, once done, turn off your printer. Let it sit off to reset it. Turn it back on and try to reprint what you want. If this fails, you may have its preferences accidentally switched to work online or something else. Check it is not. My friends canon was accidentally set to this and it would only print off internet, and would not communiacte offline until we checked the work offline preference in the preferences collumn. Post back if no go. Cheers,

I seem to have lost communication with my printer. It will not print. The ppwer button keeps flashing on and off. I have followed all of the troubleshooting guide suggestions. I have checked all cables,...

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print again.

Communication problem printer lexmark2600

With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into the USB port until told to do so.

To fix a fouled install:
(1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the software asks for the printer connect it and continue

Will not communicate

Normal 0 Do this

Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the the downloaded software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
