Blank Screen My screen is blank. At first, the screen would look distorted. Then I would just see horizontal lines. Eventually the lines faded. Now I only see a blank blue screen.

I am having the same problem with this blank screen please help me

  • Anonymous Feb 17, 2009

alright, a few of my friends have had this phone & they all said the same thing happened.
but the problem is, i just got this phone two months ago.

  • emilykilo May 10, 2009

Ok. I wasn't having any problems.
    It was perfectly fine.
Well, besides the whole "I'm going to freeze up and restart myself" thing.
    Wasn't a big deal.
THen one day out of NOWHERE, this started happening.
I tried the whole "sideways" thing, and got nothing.
But then, I started messing around with the screen, opening and closing a bunch of times and then tried like, squeezing it.
When I turned it back on, the inside screen was fine, and hasn't messed up since.
However, i'm afraid to close the phone, because I don't want them to stop working again.
If this works for anyone else, you're welcome.
But I would seriously encourage people to never buy a kyrocera again.

Same thing happens to me! it turns grey however...usiually i can get the inside screen and occassionaly the outside screen to work correctly by restarting it a bunch of times....but this time it wont work! its been out about a day now....i think its finially time for me to upgrade my phone....but its only a year old
once it starts freezign up and not working for over 15 miniutes get a new phone quickly because your phone probably wont work for much longer....too bad... i like this one and how it looks....just so many technical difficulties! D:<

Same here. Mine started around this time last year and so my insurance got me another one and here we are again facing the same problem. I had the kyocera slider and never a problem. The only thing i would hate to give up about this phone is the qwerty keyboard...

I've had this phone twice within the last year. I took it up to a shop and they said it's the ribbon that connects the two screens. It's a result of dropping it....

The LCD needs to be replace im going thru the same thing. Kyocera LCD problems is never ending. I suggest getting another phone in the future. This is my second type of Kyocera that had LCD screen problems. Something about the display they just cant cut it.

Ahh, my phone has been doing the same thing. Only thing I've had work for me is holding the phone sideways(antenna side up) with the phone open and keep resetting it. eventually the screen on the inside will work/ i can never close it, or the screens will go out again. Luckily I only have this phone for a few more days.

Mine is some peice of **** flip phone from kyocera..
and it's ATLEAST my 4th phone from them.

Problems with Kyocera's always start out small and then turn into huge things like MY SCREEN WON'T WORK.
i've used up all of my insurance on these crappy phones,
so now i'm pretty much screwed.

Thank you so much, KYO-FREAKING-CERA.

Screen is blank/ w. small horizontal lines going across it

It sounds as though you may have cracked you screen or damaged the LCD cable. This can be hard to tell because many new phones have an outer screen that does not crack when the inner one does.

Screen gets distorted and turns white

The part that is bad is the Ribbon flex cable that geos from the main board to the LCD board. Over time the cable becomes chaffed and will lose continuity between the traces. It can be fixed with

Tessco Part #: GH97-07715A

It does need to be soldered on the LCD side.

Sidekick ID blank screen

if you wiggle around the flexi cable in back of the screen it might flicker on again.
mine was faded but i was still able to see the screen .. i messed with it & it worked.
if you don't trust that way rotate the screen 90 degrees
unscrew it [MAKE SURE PHONE IS OFF!] your going to need a torx wrench, a really small 1.
take the screen off it & undo the back side of the screen & fix the cable that way.
