Call LG they bought zenith and there is a class action suit so you can get a replacement or repair refund from LG

  • Anonymous Feb 26, 2010

Go to zenith.com, look under the service icon at the top and then you should see a listing for "Class Action Lawsuit/Settlement". If you follow that link, they'll have specifics listed for this suit that was brought against them (including tv model #s included in the suit). There was an agreement reached to fix/replace affected t.v.s, court date was in Feb. I believe, and just waiting now until they post information on how to proceed.

Large yellow spots floating across TV screen

Adjusting the Color Temperature

Color temperature refers to how red (warm) or blue (cool) the color palette is. This control helps you to adjust the color settings on your TV. You can change the color settings by following these steps:

- Using the TV remote, select settings and look for a menu item labelled video or picture.
- Select Color Temperature. A slider should appear that allows you to slide between cool and warm colors. The colors might also be labelled red or blue.
- Slide the settings away from red/warm and towards blue/cool using the remote control. You can leave the slider at the point where the color is most pleasing to you.

My tv zenith is working the only ploblemb is the escreen get blue you see evryting blue de color of the people too

Your problem sounds like the projection bulb is going bad. It is the main problem with projection TV's, and is usually very spendy. I would recommend calling Zenith and request a new bulb.

Having a big yellow spot background in the middle of the picture.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

Large yellow spot in center of tv screen

Sorry, but there is no cheap method of repair for this unless it is in warranty.

This TV will require replacement of the LCD Prism unit.

This Prism blocks and allows colors so that the 3 LCD images may be mixed to produce the final image you see on the screen. When this becomes damaged or defective, it leaks colors (light). This Color Leakage apears as spots on the screens.

Where you see the spots is where the specific spot on the prism that is leaking light, the specific color that is leaking also.

This parts cost alone is normally $500 to $1000 dollars but is usually replaced under warranty.

Good luck.....

No blue screen

what you are describing is a degaussing problem. It normally occurs if some Magnetic source has been brought close to your TV. Perhaps you have shifted your TV from part of the room to another? Or to another room? Did you or someone place a magnetic source (Speakers, Tape recorder, Walkie talkie, some toy of your children, etc near or on top of the TV? Just remove it. And wait for a few days. The problem will get automatically cleared up, as the TV set's Auto Degaussing circuits will clear the color patches.
