Hi, are you playng on windows media player? If so you can adjust the speed in the sound settings of media player. Also the main sound icon on yhe bottom right of the windows tool bar, there may be 2, one for the speaker and the other might be for the sound settings for the sound card. I have 2 and one of them is for realtek sound manager, though your may be different. If I go into my sound manager and click on speakers and sound effects, then i can alter the speed. I have forgotten a couple of times and wondered what was happening. I hope this helps - let me know

Why is the audio way to fast

Sounds like a Driver problem. I can't find the drivers in a place I would trust, and I can't verify this model has a Factory Restore Partition. This appears to be an XP machine, which is no longer supported. If it is, I recommend backing up your personal data asap, and plan on moving to a newer machine and Operating System. Good luck.

My gateway gt5028 is connected to my hdtv but there is no sound anymore

Make sure to obtain the hi-definition audio driver thru gateway and microsoft.Go to windows Update and scan for updated drivers and then go to gateways website and see what audio drivers are available for you for that model. You will need to put in the serial # of pc,not the model #.

My computer died and won't turn back on.... when i press the power button i get the power led light for a split second then it goes off... nothing else turns on such as the fan or hard drive... it will not

This sounds like a power supply failure inside of your desktop.
If you're good with a screwdriver, you can order a replacement power supply from Gateway and replace it yourself or you can take the desktop in for service.
On the Gateway web site support page, it provides you with all of the equipment installed within your desktop including the part numbers of the power supplies used.
The power supplies listed are:

I would then suspect the monitor.
Sounds like the video card is working.
Try another monitor to see for sure.
