Euro Pro Model S1209 12 Amp bagless vacuum

Vacuum will not turn on (switch apparently does not work). Any suggestions?

    Thanks much for the tip,

I tried wiggling the cord and tried the switch with the vacuum in the upright and various other positions. The cord is in good shape, and appears to be well-seated into the motor. There is no visible "reset" button on the back, only the red "handle release" button halfway up the back. The only thing that seems out of place is that when depressed, the on/off switch doesn't seem to "click" (and of course, there is no indication that the motor is getting any juice). Anything else you could recommend I try before either taking this machine to be repaired, or more likely, pitched?

This is a model S1209 Shark "Euro-Pro X" bagless 12 Amp vacuum with a detachable handle. I read several rather scathing reports online regarding the Shark company, but mostly directed at its battery-operated rechargeable floor sweepers. Not much out there regarding their corded vacuums.

    Thanks,

    Pat D.

Thanks, any idea who would work on these Shark vacs reasonably in Chicagoland? I'm 30 miles west of the city in Naperville.

Checking the switch and cord would be the 1st thing to check. Is there a reset near the bottom on the back? If there is one, just push it in and see if it starts. Could also be a bad motor.

Well if the switch doesn't click when you flip, then probably it is bad.

No suction at the bottom of the vacuum and brush roller not working, how do I fix?

first unplug it from the electricity
  • then turn it upside down. try to see if the belt is connected or is possibly broken.
  • if broken, then write down the model number and get a new one. here is their user manual

parts can be possibly bought at this company. there are more companies but, i found this one first (jem has no affiliation with this reseller)

Link To Instruction Manual For Euro-Pro Infinity...

I attempted to upload this manual to the Fixya site, however I was unable to do so. Here's the link to the instruction manual for the Euro-Pro Infinity Bagless Upright Model NV31. Insides you will find important information on how to maintain the vacuum, replace the vacuum belts, clean the filters, and very helpful trouble shooting suggestions if the vacuum ever gives you problems.

I hope this is helpful to everyone:

Brush roller has stopped turning

look on the bottom of the unit for a small reset switch button.I have not worked on this unit but many are similar. If you can hear the roller motor running you may need to replace the belt
