Question about Canon i850 InkJet Photo Printer

Canon i850 lid over ink cartridges will not close

Never had this problem before, but the "lid" which closes over the ink cartridges and holds them in place, will not close. What's up?

Thanks Jeppy2. I couldn't remove the print head as you suggested, but when I pushed harder on the gray handle, it did close. I reopend it, reinserted the ink cartridges, and - with enough force - again closed the gray handle. I still don't know why it doesn't easily close like it usted to, but IT IS printing fine. I'll look at the print head again the nest time I have to change cartridges.

It sounds like your print head may have dislodged and not be in the correct position, remove the ink cartridges and raise the gray locking handle completely, then lift out the print head and remove it completely ( its the tray inside the slider tray that has the nozzles for the ink tanks ) then reinstall, there should be a slight click when its in the correct postion, reinstall your ink tanks.

How to load new ink into printer Canon Pixma 620B ? Thank you!

Step 1.
Open the hood of your printer; if the ink cartridge holder does not slide into view, check to make sure the printer is turned on.
  • Step 2 Remove any empty cartridges from the ink cartridge holder and dispose of them properly. Some Canon printers have a protective cartridge lid that must be opened before you can change a cartridge.
  • Step 3 Remove all protective tape and plastic film from the fresh cartridge. Canon uses a bright orange protective tape on its ink cartridges. Some Canon ink cartridges also have a bright orange protective cap over the ink nozzle that must be removed before installation.
  • Step 4 Insert the new cartridge into the ink cartridge holder. Tilt the cartridge up slightly and insert end-first into the proper slot; push down gently on the cartridge to lock it into place. Some Canon printers have an indicator light that will activate when the cartridge is firmly installed; other models have a cartridge cover that will lock into place when closed.
  • Step 5 Close the hood of the printer. The printer will indicate when it is ready for use with a message on the LCD screen or by blinking the LED indicator light.

Where is ink cartridge keeps saying ink low never changed ink before

With the printer on, lift the lid of the printer. The ink carrier will center on the track. You can remove the cartridge that need replacing, insert the cartridge and close the lid. You should be good to go.
