Error message during installation of motorola 4.0 phone tools

I'm trying to install Motorola 4.0 phone tools on my laptop and I keep getting an error message after I select english as the language.

I have no other programs running at the time I am trying to install.

This is what pops up:

Error Code: -5006 : 0x80070017
Error Information:
>SetupDLLSetupDLL.cpp (1356)
PAPP:Motorola Phone Tools
PVENDOR:BVRP Software (http://www.bvrp.com)
PGUID:BAD8CA9C-77C0-4663-B00B-A8D3B13C341B
$10.50.0.125
@Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) BT_OTHER 232.64

any idea what this means?

Download the software called p2ktools from net ... and connect your cell to pc it will ask for driver to install then give the location "drv folder" inside p2k tools.. then just go p2k mode then u can just transfer anything...
these p2k tools are specially designed for motorola phones....
note: while downloading p2k tools download the old version dont download the new version (new version may be p2k tools3)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My Moto SLVR L7>>to My Laptop connection

First, remove motorola phone tools from you HP PC and restart your computer. Get a fresh start. Power your phone down as well. Once the computer is back up, install motorola mobile phone tool from www.motorola.com you'll have to register, however it's free!
I FINALLY got Motorola Phone Tools to function with Vista. Download the latest drivers from Motorola here. You have to register, but its free. Download the file, unplug the phone, and run the installation (unzip the file, then right click on it, and select Install),
Next, restart Mobile Phone Tools. Vista will nag you about 10 times for each unsigned driver it is installing, but be patient - you will eventually get through the install routine. Finally, plug your phone in - it will be discovered and the correct drivers will be installed

With Windows vista it takes a little time to get it going. Because of all the firewalls. At least that is what I have experience with this program in the pass.

Cheers!

Motorola l6i Mobile Tools installation error

Motorola no longer provides a download of Motorola Phone Tools from their website. Trial version of earlier releases are still available from elsewhere. Download MPT here.

I hope that helps.
