Question about Sanyo EM-Z2001S Microwave Oven
My wife reported that the microwave just stopped working altogether
with no sounds, display, etc... After testing in another outlet, still
no working. I opened it up (easy enough) and replaced the fuse with
another 250v/20a fuse. Still nothing. Upon further inspection I found
a "burned out" spot on top of the piece with the radiation warning. It
looks like a disk metal piece that is underneath a black piece....I
guess it would look like a stack of black mento's with two electrical
lines running into it (or one in/one out). After jiggling it, the
power came back on...so it obviously stopped the operations.
What is this part....is it just this part that failed, or is there something else that would have caused this part to fail? If you need a better description, please let me know. Thank you....I am hoping to be my wife's hero.
Hi, Your dead on the money, this or called thermal shoutdown switches, when the unit get's to hot this will protect it again's over heating, on this peace there will be marking , this marking will be the temp. of shoutdown and other number for part #.
Go on googles and try the part # you will see it come up and just replace it. If you have another scrape micro you can take out the other and used it there mostlicly the same thing
Hope this Help

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, a door switch might have failed intermittently. Check each of the door switches for any signs of overheating, arcing, or burning. Also check each of them for continuity. Replace any of the switches that is visibly damaged or that only has continuity intermittently
the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad and
control panel might be defective. There are several other components
that can cause this problem, be sure to check any other components
before replacing this board.
the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad might be
at fault. This is not common. Generally speaking, if the microwave
display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but
some don't, the problem is with the touchpad.
