removing and replacing batteries does not seem to solve this for me, as indicated by other users.
I have the same problem.

I do have my E900 since the beginning of 2006. It always worked fine and it is never dropped or get wet or so.
Now, since a couple of days it has horizontal lines in every picture, no matter if I shoot in jpg or in raw.
I tried to replace the battery, the memory card and to format the memory card. I also reset the camera to manufacturers defaults, but nothing seems to help.

The only mode in which it is still working fine is in the film shooting mode.

Anybody any idea what may be the problem?

I also have white banding across my pictures when viewed in the playback mode, however right after taking the picture they are not there and they also do not show up in the video mode.

Don't ever buy fuji again. They won't help!! You have to pay for a service (about $150 I think) and then a new processor about $250, - so there you go, you might as well buy a new CANNON.
