I just bought a Blackberry RIM 7290 TMobile phone from Ebay. My provider is AT&T so the phone does work, but I cannot figure out how to access the internet. There is no web browser icon on my blackberry. i tried registering the phone through At&T's website and it said it was registered to another provider. any suggestions as to how i can access the internet?

I am actually unsure what could have caused this. It might not be unlocked correctly or could have been damaged when the software was modified. But T-Mobile carried the BB7290 so if you can get ahold of the person who unlocked it for you I would ask for a branded T-Mobile phone.
cantact your network provider and ask for a sim update and a gprs install message this may solve the prob.
also check the message centre number is in the phone correctly, goto message settings and message centre number, insert the correct one from below save it and then you should be able to send messages.

your blackberry might need an upgrade in software you bought on ebay
take it to your local retail outlet or phone provider and have them do an upgrade in the system they have
#2 i would never buy these kinda phones from ebay one of 2 things they could be stolen or just be a piece of ........
unlocked phones are usually clones once you put your service on it they have the code to copy your info and make your phone account become out of wack with out ragious charges
they got you good
only by these kind of phones from certified dealers they have the quality and guarenteed no cloning
Like you being with T-mobile, I bought a cingular phone off ebay that wasn't unlock. My sims didn't work either. My network just said call Cingular which is now AT&T and they gave me the MEP code to unlock it. Beware, you need to confirm all of your information from your network before they will help you.
