Re: not reciving sound
Agree with Nitrostrike and sharcnet (though I beg to disagree on the audio output stage - there's TX + modulation asking for a radio check).
With their indulgence and if I may add, could also possibly be the mic. You can try shorting pin 4 to the chassis ground to see if the audio will come out. If yes then its either the mic ptt switch or the coiled cord.

Hi, my name is John. Try a external speaker, plug it in the back of radio, turn the RF GAIN to MAX. Turn the SQUELCH all the way to left, make sure the select knob is on CB, and on AM...try all this and if that's does not do it, let me know, I will post other steps here,.... hope this was very helpful....
There is not enough information here to solve your problem but I can give you some places to start. Check your Mic something as simple as a broken ground wire could cause this. A quick check to see if the s meter is moving with signals could tell you if you have signal coming into the radio. Try another mic do some further diagnostics or seek professional help. There should be a CB shop around near you if not look for one at a truck stop.
Bad switch. It's that simple. The factory switches are crimp together junk. You may be able to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to softly squeeze the case of the switch together to correct the poor contact in side of the switch, but, if it gets a lot of use you may need to replace it altogether. Or try adjusting
does this radio have freq? if so you could have turned on causing
a miss alignment with antena.. check all the switches move into different positions and keep keying up, good antena connection?
