Agreed. He didn't say if he recently changed the mic, etc (could be wired wrong).

Check the RF gain knob too (does that model have an RF gain?)

I used to have a habit of accidentally moving the RIT knob on my 2510, and would tell everyone they sounded off frequency :)

What happens when you turn the squelch all the way down? Do you hear background static noise? Could you have a problem with your antenna? Good point Nitro, if there is meter deflection that would indicate the receiver is working and there's possibly a problem with the audio output stage or speaker.

Have you tried hooking up an external speaker? If you hear sound there, then your speaker could be bad.

Is your meter moving at all when he tries to call you?

Hi all,

Agree with Nitrostrike and sharcnet (though I beg to disagree on the audio output stage - there's TX + modulation asking for a radio check).

With their indulgence and if I may add, could also possibly be the mic. You can try shorting pin 4 to the chassis ground to see if the audio will come out. If yes then its either the mic ptt switch or the coiled cord.

Good luck and kind regards to all.

Hi, my name is John. Try a external speaker, plug it in the back of radio, turn the RF GAIN to MAX. Turn the SQUELCH all the way to left, make sure the select knob is on CB, and on AM...try all this and if that's does not do it, let me know, I will post other steps here,.... hope this was very helpful....

Radio come on but do not recive or put out no sound

There is not enough information here to solve your problem but I can give you some places to start. Check your Mic something as simple as a broken ground wire could cause this. A quick check to see if the s meter is moving with signals could tell you if you have signal coming into the radio. Try another mic do some further diagnostics or seek professional help. There should be a CB shop around near you if not look for one at a truck stop.

Cant recive from than 100 ft away new antennae still nothing

I suggest that the radio needs to be realigned to receive. If the radio has been dropped or banged in any manner this could have caused your problem.

No cb channels no audio no recive

If you have no channel display or CB operation, it sounds like a blown voltage regulator that supplies power to the CB PLL circuit.

I have no reciving in a cobra 29 ltd chrome

Bad switch. It's that simple. The factory switches are crimp together junk. You may be able to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to softly squeeze the case of the switch together to correct the poor contact in side of the switch, but, if it gets a lot of use you may need to replace it altogether. Or try adjusting

Thanks!
