Accidentally changed height somehow while using remote, now "squeezed"
I somehow got a small display of a green "hit" and some numbers on the screen a while ago, and it appeared to shrink or expand the height of the screen. I thought I had it back where it was, but now all I have is a squeezed down version in the middle of the screen. It's a little taller in the middle than the sides, but very odd. Any idea how to get this back to normal. Have tried the "reset" feature, did nothing to change. I can;t figure out how to get that one screen back, so I can expand the heighth again.

Re: Accidentally changed height somehow while using...
Ou will need to adjust that via the service menu. Toshiba has 2 ways to access it on various models I will post them both. first way
1. TV turned on 2. Press 'Mute' button on the remote. 3. Press 'Mute' button on the remote again and hold. 4. Press the 'Menu' button at the TV. You are now in the Adjustment mode
4. Use the 'Channel up'or"Channel dwn' to select the item. 5. Write down the old value of the item before changing. 6. Use Volume up and down adjust the value. 7. When you have made all the adjustments you want turn the set off to exit.

hello on the remote control it should say tv if you press it .it should take you back to normal view . or if you keep pressing that button and go through all the channels it should bring you back to normal tv
OTHER THAN TRYING IT IN THE CUSTOMER MENU there is the tech menu.
With the set off on the original Sony remote control press:
Display, 5, Vol up and power.
The set should come on with a lot of words and numbers on screen.
With 1 OR 4 you navigate until you see PJE on the screen.
9, and then 6 on the remote will bring up the convergence grid. You will see a grid with a blinking colored cursor--if it is green do nothing--3 will allow you to change to red or blue or green. IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO CHANGE THE SET TO A UNUSED VIDEO INPUT TO MAKE IT EASY TO SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
Select red with the three button and navigate with the 1 or 4 buttons--enter button will allow you to adjust. enter again will allow you to navigate with the 1 or 4 buttons-- you want to get to the middle of the screen and then with 1 or 4 buttons navigate from the center around the screen.
You will find 1 moves adjustment in one direction and 4 in another. Go all around and adjust red first. Then repeat with blue.
YOU ACTUALLY ADJUST USING THE CURSOR BUTTONS--WHEEL NEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE REMOTE--YOU WILL SEE THE CHANGES AS YOU DO THIS.
When you are done hit Muting and then enter to save adjustments.
NOTE: some of these sets require the convergence be adjusted in the 4X3 which will also adjust in the FULL--if the set has the ZOOM AND WIDE zoom you will have to repeat the adjustment again in one of those modes to adjust Zoom and Wide Zoom.
Also if you have HD connection you may have to adjust it there also--many of these sets require it to be adjusted 3 times in the three modes.
IF convergence will not adjust in any one of the picture modes you have a convergence circuit problem and need to replace the convergence chips etc.
When you are done be sure to hit Muting and then Enter to save adjustments you have made. The word Write will appear on screen in green when you press muting and then in green when you press enter--it means you have saved the adjustments.
NEVER TRY TO ADJUST GREEN!

there is a code to reset the HDMI video, i think it is--hit Display on the remote, then sleep timer and video statice at the same time, then the number 2, then turn the tv off, after it shuts down all the way, turn it back on, should take care of it
Your pip module has went south. The capicitators on the board have leaked and ruined the board.Agood tv repair man can bypass the module to get you a full screen picture again. The only problem is you will no longer have pip ability.
It is possible that for some reason the set got in to a service remote mode and is stuck there. From the C10 1f you state it sound like it could be a old Panasonic but we will need make and model number to go any further
You enter the service menu by using the remote. Press DISPLAY, 5, VOL+, POWER
in rapid succession. Once the screen appears, you should notice green letters
and numbers at the top of the screen. Your remote acts as a navigation tool to
allow you to select and change values. Keys 1 and 4 change the Item, keys 2 and 5 change the Category, and keys 3
and 6 change the Value. MUTE enters the write function, and ENTER executes it.
Power exits the service menu. Keep in mind that while in the convergence mode,
the keys have different functions, which we'll get to in due time. The service
manual will also have this information. http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/Ws500/
Replaced convergance power packs (2) stk392-110 check all 2watt resistor the packs, to enter the convergance alinment mode on the set. Using the remote control press and release the sleep timer button when sleep timer displays timer equals zero immediately press the display and V. status buttons at the same time. If done quickly enough the service menu will appear once entered the careful not to does disturb or change any other settings press the number seven to enter the convergence alignment mode a full crosshair pattern will appear in this alignment mode you can adjust the blue and the red to line them on the green using the select and the number pad you can move to the next crosshair to align the boot to the green and then the red to the green when done pressing the muting button on the remote control will save your changes will take a little while to figure this out as you work with. If you make an unwanted error pressing exit without hitting the muting button will restore your convergence to its previous setting. If you're green is off after entering the service mode press the number six on your remote control in this setting will be able to adjust the green only once that is done us the muting button. Then enter button seven if need be to adjust the blue and the red. Remember no changes have been stored until the muting button is pushed open this helps.
