Question about Sunon (16-02-006) Fan Kit
The cooling fan of my sotec 3123xs is broken. when it works, it makes big noise. i want to buy another sonon fan, i am not sure which kind of fan i should choose
The fan in my Sotec 3123 xs also made noise, but there was an easy fix. All I had to do was to:
(*) turn the PC over so that the bottom faces up.
(*) remove the small plastic plate next to the plate that covers the fan. The small plate is attached with two small Phillips screws. On my PC, the Microsoft license sticker is attached to the small plate.
(*) use a small blade to pry off the plastic plate that covers the fan inlet.
(*) push on the center disk of the fan. This pushes the fan back where it is supposed to be so that the fan blades do not hit the fan housing.
(*) use a moistened cotton swab or similar to clean the dust from the fan.
(*) pop the plastic fan cover plate back in place.
(*) reattach the small plate with the two screws that covers the memory.
You are done!

If you want a quality fan id go for the Cooler Master brands
but if you want a cheaper fan go for the fans off EBAy
hope this helps, Maxicube
