Sounds like you have the R. margin set there. Space across to the point you would like the margin to beep, press R. mar key on the L. side of the keyboard.

One it could be a bad ribbon. the other is a bad print hammer, or is failing, there is platic cap on the selenoid that cracks after years.
Needs replaced most likely, Or the selenoid plunger is gummed up.
Does anything else work? It is possible your right margin is set to close to the left margin. Try tabbing all the way to the right, set the right margin, hit the return and then hit the tab. If it beeps and goes all the way to the right, try setting some tab stops and retry the test.
Sounds like the daisy wheel is loose. Wiggle the daisy wheel side to side. there should be little movement. If it is loose, remove it and reinstall it. also, look for foreign objects down in the wheel printhead assembly.
If that doesn't fix it, remove the daisy wheel,unplug machine and let it rest for 20 minutes, or so. . reinstall the wheel and see what happens.
It's not completing the power on reset probably a board or power supply. If you have the ability remove the board and look for debris on and around it.
First try advamcing yhe ribbon and be sure the printhead id properly installed, lube the silver shaft that the carrier slides on with a little WD40. If you get it going the ribbons are no longer made and almost impossible to find.
The trouble is probably the silver shaft that the carrier slides on is gummed up. Try a little WD40 on the shaft, if that dosen't work the carrier motor in the L. rear corner may need lubricated, WD40 will do that too.
It could be that the right hand margin is set very close to the left margin. Try spacing way over to the right side of the typewriter and resetting the right margin there.
