Yes im tring to find the parking wire i dont know what color it is trying to watch video not working

The parking brake wire for this unit is light green. Try connecting it the unit's ground wire (black) and test for video. If it does not show video when connected to ground, install a two wire toggle switch. Connect one wire of the toggle switch to the light green wire and and the other wire of the toggle switch to ground. In this manner you will be able switch the screen on and off when viewing videos.

There is no video on my kenwood ddx8017, why? Do i have to bypass the parking break wire? which one is it, the solid green, or red with black, or pink?

If you want to watch videos on your unit it is necessary to bypass the parking brake wire from the Kenwood unit. The parking brake wire is light green and the best possible way to bypass the unit is by installing a toggle switch. The toggle switch should be a two wire device. Connect one wire to ground and the other wire to the parking brake wire from the unit. This will allow you to switch the supply on the wire to ground when needed.
Also, in some older Kenwood units you could just as easily connect the parking brake wire to ground and be done with it but, it does not always work.

When i put a dvd in the disk drive it only plays the audio. the video screen just says something like ''warning dont drive while watching video'' this happens all the time even if im in park.

You have to bypass the parking brake arrangement, which usually means just wiring that wire (it's the one the manufacturer wants you to have connected to the handbrake, Pioneer uses a lime green color) to the black ground wire. This works with most, but I have noticed that newer models work around that so you may need some sort of bypass toggle switch.

Bypass for N2

there are to steps, very simple...

solder two points under the silver sticker on the bottom of the head unit (pay a pro! don't mess up your deck!) then you ground the light green parking brake wire (attach it to the black ground wire coming out if the same harness) this will give you "full function". i have this unit and have the upgrade, it works.

Hi,

Normally, the emergency/parking brake has to be activated/engaged for the video player to operate.

By bypassing, you are simulating this condition even if in reality, the emergency/parking brake is not activated/engaged.

Solution > ground the video player's brake sensor wire rather than connect it to its intended connection point.

In some brands/model/versions of the video player, this would be light green (Pioneer, Clarion, JVC), green (Kenwood),

In some other rands/model/versions of the video player, there would be a bypass switch underneath a sticker, others would need a special adapter, still others have bypass option/feature in the menu/setup and some would require a toggle switch that would connect the dvd brake wire from positive to ground.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. A reminder pls, in some regions bypassing is not allowed.

Good luck and kind regards.

Just ground out the Ebrake wire... it will work fine then. Even if you just link the ground and ebrake wire together and ground them together it works!

Parking Brake wire on Jensen VM9311TS

It may need to see a Positive....not a ground (the brake wire rests at ground and goes positive when the pedal is pressed). but to answer your question, the brake wire for your car is Light Green and is at the brake switch above the pedal.
