Question about Dryers
Hello, I'm new to this forum.
I have an AEG condenser dryer Lavathrem 5770. It didn't heat and the drum didn't turn, but I have replaced the belt - I bought the Service Manual from the internet to assist. I now have a new problem.
A plasic bracket near a brass brush at the top of the machine is missing.
The Service Manual doen't descirbe how it is mounted or what it does, and the service diagrams don't help.
What does the brass brush at the top of the machine do? Is it meant to make contact with the stainless steel strap which is insulated from the drum? If it is meant to make contact then I can try to make something, or if anyone knows the part number of the complete plastic assembly (from brush to metal cross piece) then I could order it. I'm just not sure what it does.
The brush is a sensor to check for the dryness of the load(for a basic description) it should run on the track you have mentioned.
