Factory Reset for Tungsten T5 handhelds

If you've set a password on your device, any hard reset will automatically become a Factory Reset. With this method, you'll enter a password and then perform a hard reset.

1.On your handheld, launch the Prefs application. From the list that appears, under General, select Security.
2.If the Password box says "Unassigned," tap the box and create a password for your handheld.
3.Once the password has been set, hold down the Power (on/off) button on your device.
4.While holding down the Power button, turn over your device so that you can see the back of it. Still holding the Power button, use an unfolded paper clip or a similar small object to gently press the RESET hole (where?). Keep holding the Power button throughout.
5.While still holding the Power button, the screen will show the Palm logo and a progress bar will appear at the bottom. Then the circular Palm Powered logo will appear. Release the power button when you see the Palm Powered logo.

Keep holding the Power button during this screen. When you see this screen, you can release the Power button.
6.A message will appear warning that you are about to erase all the data stored on your handheld. Press UP.
7.You may see a screen that says "Reformatting in progress. This may take several minutes." This screen will remain for several minutes (up to 10 minutes). Don't do anything while this is happening.
8.If you performed this reset correctly, the screen of your device will go blank after several minutes, and you will not be able to turn on your handheld. The charging LED will not light up. (any other activity - such as the Palm OS logo and then the Applications launcher appearing - means the reset was performed incorrectly; try again)
9.Your device will appear "dead." To wake up your handheld, perform a soft reset.

Bought car and owner did not have radio code local dealer pulled radio and got a code which did not work what is next step

Many times when you try and enter the default 'password', you have tried a few times to get into it, however it may have locked itself for too many times. Either remove the batter connections for a couple of minutes or unplug the radio power (best) if you know where it is. I suggest radio power, because you know it has nothing to keep it powered up in some kind of sleep mode. It needs to be totally powered off for a few seconds (maybe a few minutes in some cases). Then enter the password (usually just a few numbers) and see if it will let you in. It might be a good way to try anyway..

I had a vehicle that had an internal battery to the radio, so you had to not only remove power but remove the battery to clear it's ability to enter the 'password'..

I just restart my internet because i don't know what would happen if i turn it off what would happen?

Generally - you should be able to restart your router. It should come back up in a few minutes. Now if you need to log in to the router and change a setting you will need a password. If your device is connected via WiFi, you may need to enter a password to complete the connection, unless you have the "remember password" selected.

I forgot my password

You can perform a factory reset, but this will wipe out all user-level data on the machine.

Have you tried just pushing and holding the reset button on the underside of the machine?

Factory data reset: to erase all user's data on the Device as follows:
  • Click "Factory data reset" button to enter.
  • Click "reset device" button.
  • Click "Erase everything" button to start reset.
  • Wait until the device finishes the reset by itself.
The Device will turn off automatically. (It takes a few minutes).

I will forgot my password of my sandisk u3

Unfortunately, you can NOT access your user data and applications on the device without a password.

If you think you are entering the correct password, ensure that CAPS lock or NUM lock is not turned on. You should try to type your password in another application (like word or email) to ensure that it is being entered correctly. This can help you see if CAPS lock, NUM lock, or a sticky key is causing the password to actually be entered incorrectly.

Password attempts
There's a set number of attempts before U3 locks your device and you have to reformat it.
Reformatting will delete all files and applications on the flash drive.

Password hint
If you set a hint when you enabled the password protection, click Hint in the log in window to display the hint you entered. If you did not set a hint or still can not remember your password you will have to reformat the drive.
Reformatting will delete all files and applications on the flash drive.

It is recommended to keep a backup of all the data on your U3 device on your PC for safe keeping.

How do you secure / password lock the HTC touch smartphone?

Quoted from page 211 of the user's manual:

Protect your device with a password
You can help keep your data more secure by requiring a password every time the device is turned on.
To set a device password
1.
Tap Start > Settings, and then tap All Settings.
2. On the Personal tab, tap Lock.
3. Select the Prompt if device unused for check box, then specify the idle time before the device requires a password.
4. In the Password type box, select the type of password you would like to use.
Tip If your device is configured to connect to a network, use an alphanumeric password for increased security.
5. Enter the password in both the Password and Confirm boxes.
6. Tap OK. The next time the device is turned on, you will be prompted to enter your password.
