My logitech webcam, as well as any other webcam, refuses to connect to my contact on MSN. The laptop is a window's Vista, and the webcam is accepted and about 30 seconds later, when it usually is supposed to show up, it closes automatically wtihout anyone having to touch it. What's wrong with it? It works fine on my desktop computer.

If the webcam works normally otherwise then the problem is compatibility between your webcam and MSN messenger. I'd contact MSN and ask them if/whem they support the webcam or get a cheap generic USB cam that will work.
It looks like you have a conflict, Fortunately Logitech have good support for their customers and I would recommend you contact them from this page. They tend to 'teflon shoulder' problems in chat programs but it would be a good start to get your video working in 'Quick Capture'
Try this instead. Go to logitech.com go into the webcam section find the model of webcam you purchased. To the left side of the the photograph of your webcam It shows downloads.Click on that and download the software directly from logitech. just follow the prompts which starts with what operating system your using (windows98) are you going to use skype or msn? just remember once you've set up the software in your computer you'll have to also set up the webcam to whatever medium you using to chat msn or whatever. On msn its at the top of the contact list page, under tools.
You will have to set the logitech webcam up to the medium you are using yahoo...msn. This is done after the software is installed.I don't use yahoo but on msn open it up then go to tools on the msn page at the top above all your contacts.Open the tools and go to webcam setup, click on it and follow the steps. This will get the mic working. It took me awhile to realize you had to do it twice once for the software setup and again to set it up to mate to MSN.
