The computer chip which is the sort of "virtual brain" of the stereo may have been fried by an unexpected current ,something similar happened to my vhs video recorder (half the menu items dissapeared among other things), if this is the case then there is nothing you can do but buy a new radio but i guess the radio wasnt worth much if it came with the car, sorry hope this helped

Hi Michelle,

There are 2 ways on getting the code. 1 is from the person you bought the car from. 2 if this is a standard car radio the came with the car all you need to do is contact the car dealership of that make car, carry your log book and they will give you the code.

I bought a used radio from ebay for my volvo but the code was not included

You might try contacting the seller to see if they possibly know the code Otherwise you may try contacting Volvo and giving them the serial number off of the radio and maybe they can help you.

What to do if your radio says OFF instead of CODE
(Courtesy of mittech)

If your radio says OFF it means you entered the wrong radio code three times. To get it to say CODE again do the following.

1:Turn the key to on or accessory.
2:Push the power button so that the radio display says OFF.
3:Let the car sit for 1 hour.
4:The radio display will go blank.
5:Turn the radio on and it will say CODE again.

The amp requires a compatible Ai-net Alpine head unit to operate it. I bought one too and didnt know this and im still trying to put all of the peices together to create a working stereo system without buying everything all over again.

No radio sound from my IVA-D310E

neither of those units use fibre optic cables! but it sounds like you puled out the antenna wire behind the head unit. if you try and search radio stations without the manual tune on and it keeps changing frequency on it and never stops then its the antenna plug.

Radio code ford falcon au 1998

Some companys set there codes as things like 0000,1111 and so on but not all. Try this from 0-9 and 1234 sometimes works to. Hope this works but make and model would help.

Dodge Neon Radio

The lights may work because the might be tied in with your parking lights, allowing them to illuminate at night for visibility. First thing's first, did you check the fuses in the fuse panel? Check them all since cars have circuits mixed around and the radio is no exception. OK since all the fuses are good, you'll have to pull out the radio and unplug it from the harness. You will have to use a multimeter which you can get anywhere (wal-mart, etc). Set the meter to DC, put the probe on a bare piece of metal in the radio cavity and use the red probe on the harness. Scout the web for a diagram of your car's harness to know what to meter. Now since everything there is ok, you will have to dig a hole and throw the radio into it because the radio is dead. A new one can be bought for as little as $100. You will need a trim kit to fit it into the weird hole from the the radio and a wiring harness as well to make it match up to your car's harness. Both can be bought on e-bay for cheap. Actually the radio can too.
