    I have a Panasonic NN S573 1100Watt.

My problem is the same - but not caused by any cleaning products. No matter what amount of time is programmed or what setting - the microwave cuts out after 3-5 sconds of running.

I have been told that it is the inverter and it is most likely to be an expensive repair - due to the cost of parts. The microwave is about four years old - but has barely been used.

Can you help with a solution?

Should I just cut my losses and get rid of it and purchase a new one?

    Help please.

Identical problem, identical model, identical age. I guess it's time to dump it.
    Thanks for the info.

I have the same problem. My Panasonic is 14 years old so I will get a new one instead to paying for expensive repair.

You'll need a new control panel. leaving the windex to soak or any liquid may have damaged it,also damaged the R.F Screen you call the waxpaper cover. At this point it might be time to buy a new one.
if you have to clean it, I suggest putting a cup of water to biol for 2 or 3 mins. then wipe down with a light damp cloth.

Exterior of oven , top and both sides gets very hot to touch, when cooking +- 10 minutes or more the last couple of days; no Error ( E41/42/45 or 47 are being displayed. Fan is normal, functions: OK

There could be food or oil buildup around the door frame which will absorb some of the radiant and microwave energy whilst cooking. Give it all a good clean and see if that helps. If everything else is working properly, it may be a problem with the cooling fan. Microwave ovens have a "stirrer fan" inside the roof or rear of the cooking area to disperse the microwaves and some convection / microwave ovens also have a cooling fan which assists in dissipating heat within the cabinet.

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
  1. Controller is confused A power surge or random non-reproducible action of the universe may have resulted in the controller's program ending up in an infinite loop. Pull the plug for a minute or two to reset it.
  2. Defective Interlock switches This can result in the controller thinking the door is open and ignoring you.
  3. Cleaning Cleaning solutions (spray cleaner) may have gotten inside and shorted out the touchpad or controller. If this happens remove the touchpad, let it air dry for a few days, and then attach it back on the microwave.

The top quick access buttons stopped working 2 days ago. The bottom buttons still work but, we can't punch in a custom time. The only thing that will work is the 1 for 1 minute 2 for 2 minute...etc.

One of two things is happening, either you have broken connections in the membrane switches of the keypad and should replace the keypad(which is most likely) or your main control board has failed in a way that it can no longer read signals sent by the keypad.

HELLO.

The steps to the solution are as follows.

Off the microwave oven and it.

Then plug the microwave oven and power on the microwave.

Allow the microwave oven to load itself.

Then reset the timing program.

Test the microwave for normal operation.

NOTE:if the problem persist, cleaning the microwave is the next solution.Below is the solution to cleaning the microwave oven.
  • Remove oven racks and soak them in soapy water.
  • Turn on your automatic oven cleaner; this usually entails locking the door and turning the function switch to "clean."
  • Let the oven do its work; it will heat for several hours, charring off baked-on foods.

Thanks.

The microvave does not heat anything up. The light works, turntable works, the 'oven' goes 'on', but neither the food nor the liquid heats up. It was working one day and then not, the next!

At minimum, it'll be a High Voltage fuse blown. There could have been a power surge, or it could be an indicator of something more wrong with the microwave. Not that expensive to fix.

At maximum, it'll be the magnetron (the component that creates the microwaves). This could be an expensive job.

Refer to your manual or to the manufacturers website for information about repair locations.

Cleaned the microwave now it doesn't work

If you just cleaned the microwave, the windex may have not evaporated. The windex soulution causes a short in the electronics and the MW will not work correctly until the windex is fully evaporated.
