Question about Sewing Machines

2 Answers

Thread bunching I have a JcPenney 7050 sewing machine cat number 868-4532 and it is currently giving me problems. When I sew the material does not move and all the thread bunches in the bobbin area. Before this new problem it was just bunching the thread on the bottom part of the material. I think I have it threaded right and I have checked the tension which I also think is correct. I have this machine for quite sometime at least 15 years. What could be causing this to happen? Can I fix it or should I think about getting a new machine?

I have the same problem on my Brother CS-80. I think the pressure foot needs to be adjusted, but I'm just guessing and I can't find out how to make the adjustment.

There is two other potential problems other than the stitch length. I have this model and if the bobbin is not the exat right one, then it will bunch. I have also seen it happen when the tension is too loose.

When i sew the bobbin thread bunches up. what to do?

remove the thread and bobbin.
take out your manual and follow the exact instructions for threading and inserting bobbin.

If this does not help check the tension on the top(the number should be about mid way).
If it is too low it will bunch up on the bottom.

My white sewing machine bunches thread on bottom of material and the machine won't sew

Go to singerco.com and put your model number in and download a free manual. You are probably not threading it right on the top thread or your thread is tangled, you could also have a bent needle or one with a burr on it. Change needle.
