Question about Sony Network Walkman NW-A3000 MP3 Player

2 Answers

Dying battery I got mine for christmas 2005 & its worked beautifully for me but now the battery life is simply appaling & needs charging on an almost daily basis. Skipping songs seems to make the battery run out even faster. What do I do? Send it in for repairs? Where? The sony website is no help as fas as providing repair information.

same problem no life in battery . want to replace it but dont know how to accesss the battery

I have the same problem as all of the above people except I do let the battery die fully. Also I do charge it for quite a long time through the computer USB. Is there anyway that I can get my Sony to last longer. I am not under warranty anymore.

I would recommend running the battery till it is flat, by playing it for as long as possible, at full volume. Then charge it up for ages, maybe all night. To minimize battery wastage change the brightness to minimum and the display to 15 seconds. The reason the battery dies is because of excessive pressing of buttons. If this fails take your player to one of the specialist Sony Places that will fix it. I believe these are listed in the warranty or the manual that came with the player.

There is no sound or display on the screen when it is power on

The Apple iPod uses a rechargeable, lithium-based battery that can go between 10 and 36 hours between charges, depending on the model. You can charge your iPod using either an electrical outlet or your computer's USB port, but if you find that your iPod no longer takes or maintains a charge despite having the right connections, you should try some basic troubleshooting methods to restore the device's battery life.

Connect your iPod to a different USB port or wall outlet. If you use a USB port to charge your iPod, you may simply have a low-powered port, according to Apple. You can often resolve this by switching the cable to a different port, or using a wall charger (sold separately) to recharge instead. Charge your iPod for several hours. If you find your iPod completely unresponsive even as it charges, leave it plugged in for three or four hours and check again. If your battery life has been depleted completely, the iPod will need time before it can begin functioning again. Restart your iPod. A frozen or dysfunctional iPod may fail to charge, but a quick reset can fix basic functionality glitches. To reset a touch-wheel iPod, hold down the "Select" and "Menu" buttons until the gray Apple emblem appears on the screen. For iPod Touch, hold down the "Sleep" and "Home" buttons (the only two buttons on the device). Connect your iPod to your PC using the provided USB cable, open the iTunes software and click the "iPod" tab in the left column. Then click the "Update" button to search for and install the latest iPod software. Apple recommends keeping your software up-to-date to ensure that your battery life remains fully optimized. Purchase a new battery from Apple. If your battery fails to charge despite all your troubleshooting efforts, it may simply be too old and depleted to continue functioning. By taking advantage of Apple's iPod Out-of-Warranty Battery Replacement Program (see Link Below), you can send in your iPod and receive a replacement battery or replacement http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery/ iPod for a modest fee.

Zune white 30 gig. Im having problems with the charging. the battery life is too short and it dies quick. can you please let me know what's the problem?

Hi rasshatta357,

If the battery is fully charged and get low quickly after an operation, this is an indication that the battery itself is dying. You have to replaced it with new one to back in normal operation again.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

My latte espresso battery keeps dying to fast when it's an 8gb and suppose 2 last for 6-7hrs but it only lasts about 3mins can somebody please tell me what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ifthe rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

After I power on the archos it powers down right away...I plug it in to charge and it does not say it is charging...I also can not get the power light to shut off... I have tried plugging it in to both car...

Hello :

Simply you need to replace your media player battery with new one . It seems that the battery life is ended . When battery life is ended , it can't be recharged anymore .
If that didn't help , then you need to check if the power charger is in good condition . If the power charger is in good condition , then the problem will be with the charging jack . For charging jack problem , you need to take your media player to a repair shop .

good luck .

rate please !

My ipod shuffle is not being recognized by the pc and not chargin

If the shuffle is over 18mth old it might very well be the battery. However do just try a Reinstall of iTunes then an upgrade of the shuffle software if you can connect it. The other alternative if the thing still doesn't connect is that it's the main board or connector itself although these are more unlikely.
A new battery for a shuffle is about $5-10 (£3-6) on eBay and normally comes with instructions and tools.

All the best

Gets stuck at the loading screen, also a lack of battery life.

i had the same problem, try to reset it or, if you got rockbox built in try to turn it on and off, i don't know if you might have 2 sides to your mp3 player but try that out, and definitely buy a new battery, they sell it most likely at any electronic store...the wires should be plugged in inside and if not try to connect them inside: connect them as this red, black, and red if you do that it should solve your problem

Hi,
try hookin up to the computer USB Port, and see if there is a charging Icon On The MP4 Player. leave it hooked up to the computer for 2-3 hours, then try it.
if non of this works, the internal batterys dead.
you can get replacements for these if you need 1.
theres a lot of chinese companys, that supply replacement batterys as spares.

Battery charging

Ask her if she tried to plug it into an iPod dock, such as an iSOUND or an Ihome. that is what ruined my sandisk e260, it won't hold more than an hour of a charge, if this is true then you will need to take it to the store and ask them if they are able to replace it. Sincerely, Maxwell
