Prom is a basic "generic" brand which makes many boards under many names. They are simple boards sold at cheap prices and usually only come with a 60 day warranty which is a lot less than most big brands 1 year warranty.

What is Snowboard price range?

It could range between $100 and up to $2000. There are many factors for price but like in many other cases it is usually the more expensive the better the board. Of course, when you get a branded board like Burton, the price is higher because of the brand and reputation, but it is usually worth it.

I am trying to buy my son a Nitro snowboard for xmas and would like to know if I need to order a wide board. He is 5ft 11inchs and a size 10 1/2.

You should not need to order a wide. The length of his board is heavily dependent on his weight. If he were on anything less then a 157, you could be comcerned, but a number of their boards are available in a mid-wide.The size of board designed for his body weight and in general, his height, should get him into a wide enough boot to fit his feet.

Although, the tendency is definitely to go shorter then the camber of the board is designed and this can be appropriate/affected by terrain and riding style. Be a little weary of choosing to small of a board.

Another key would be the brand of boots he has or gets. Some brands use two size liners in the same outer shell. Burton is a good choice in boots with their one-to-one size shell and liners. Giving the rider the smallest outer shell possible in relation to their liner.

My Burton Snowboard Boot laces have come detached from the boot. Looking at the Burton website they say that it is from resting my board on my boot. Basically the bottom two laces have become detached. I...

Do you mean the lace eyelets?

if this is the case, you can either sew them back on with thread or hot glue them. if it is the actual laces that came out. Buy new laces and replace them

The base of my burton stria 2008 delaminated the stripes are popping out but it is not under warranty anymore. i just recently bought the escapade est bindings so i am stuck with burton. The stria model is...

You're situation is not uncommon. I have dealt with bases de-laminating like this several times in the past and it is usually always due to something causing the glue to become brittle and fail. Whether this due to wear and tear will depend on the condition the base is in. If the base is all torn up and has gouges along the edge of the rails then no one will take it seriously because it could have been water damage. If, however the base is in good condition then you should still have a chance of getting it warranted. Contact Burton or better yet contact your area sales rep, explain your situation and your loyalty to Burton (even if its waning a bit now) and ask them what they can do. If they are cool they will at least hook you up with a really good discount on a new board. Also if you ahve a good shop near you (or better yet the one that sold it to you) then go in and see if they are keen to help.

I always fought for people in your situation so with a little luck you will fond someone else who wants to help too.

Do the ride viper contrabands fit on the new burton boards using the channel system or the retro fit system for the new burton boards

They wont fit directly as Ride bindings are made of very lite metal and need all four screws to stay secure. The best idea is to buy the matching Burton binding or avoid the channel system and stick with 4 x 4 brands

Boy just got a burton hero board, put on his danny kass bindings. The EST system for binding attachment seems to stink. Only two screw attachment, they immediately loosen up. How to attach tighter?

The Hero is designed to work with Burton's special two bolt system. The base plate on the Burton bindings is much stiffer than standard (like the on the Kass's) so will flex and loosen quickly. The best solution if these were both bought together from a store is return them as they should not have been sold together. If this is not possible then sell the bindings and buy the correct Burton model. If this is not fixed the mounting screws will eventually damage the board and need costly repairs.

How do Lamar bindings line up against burton

Burton has a different pattern for their bindings then everyone else. The good news is that the standard pattern will fit on burton boards. You just need to use 4 bolts on the lamar bindings rather then the 3 you would use with burton.

I just want to ask if the Burton P1.1 2009 LARGE bindings will fit to my 24cm width board Thanks in advance

Hi,

Should do... Though to be safe I'd take a measurement of the board width to the shop with you and have a look at the bindings on a board of similar width..
Better still bring the board and your boots in with you and have them fit the binding and then try it for feel before you buy..
