Boussole,

There are a few things you can try to fix this error code (51330):

  1. Set your router to Mixed Mode. It won't work on G-only mode.
  2. Set the channel on your router to either 1 or 11.

Let me know if this helps. Good luck!

Trying to connect to the internet through Wii but getting error messgae # 51330

Error Code: 51330
Unable to connect to your wireless network
Likely cause: It appears that the password (also known as a WPA or WEP key) entered into the Wii console is not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.

How to fix: Make sure the password is entered into the Wii exactly as it appears in your router's settings.

WEP AND WPA Security keys are case sensitive.

I have been trying to connect my Wii to my Linksys wireless in my home and every time I try, I get the error code of 51330 with a mention of being unable to connect to the internet. What can I do to fix...

A. Do you have the SSID for your Linksys router as just "linksys"? That name is so common that someone nearby might have set up a new router and left it the same name as well... and your Wii is trying to connect to THEIR "linksys" instead of yours. Try changing the name broadcast by your router to something else, then try connecting using that new name.

B. Be sure you are typing in the WEP or WPA passphrase correctly, it is SO easy to mess up one simple letter in the code and nothing will work. I've gotten dozens of service calls for iPods and games where the customer said their code didn't work, but worked for me when I got there. I know, it's frustrating, just be SURE you have the code 100% correct.

Other reading material from Nintendo is below:

Wii error code 51330 It is unlikely that your Wii console needs any type of repair, as according to the Nintendo Error Code Lookup, the 51330 error code is "usually indicates a problem relating to wireless security."

Error Code: 51330 This error code usually indicates a problem relating to wireless security. Please try the following troubleshooting:

  1. Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router?
    1. Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance)
    2. Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key.
    3. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
    4. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
    5. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters).
    6. If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot.
    7. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types:
      • WPA - PSK (TKIP)
      • WPA - PSK (AES)
      • WPA2 - PSK (AES)

  2. If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering:
    1. From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model).
    2. If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings).
    3. If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

  3. Try adjusting the "Channel" your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. This can potentially increase the download speed. For information on accessing your router's settings, click here to select the brand name and model number of your router (if available).

  4. Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router.
    1. Click here to go to our Wireless Router lookup page.
    2. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer.
    3. Click on your router's model number, if available.
    4. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

  5. Ensure that the router is set to broadcast in "mixed" or "b/g" mode. Routers set to "g only" may not be able to allow a successful connection from the Wii console. (The option to change this setting is typically found in the "Wireless" section of your router's settings. For information on accessing your router's settings, click here to select the brand name and model number of your router, if available.)

  6. Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings:
    1. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run."
    2. Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window.
    3. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.

  7. Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response.

  8. If you are still receiving this error code, please click here for assistance.

But if the above information doesn't help correct this problem, then give a call to Nintendo's 1-800-255-3700 (6 am ~ 7 pm Pacific, everyday) Customer Service number, and one of the service representatives will do some over the phone troubleshooting to determine exactly what is causing this and then talk you through any needed steps to correct it.

Cant connect to internet error 51330

if this is a nintendo wii you're talknig about, your firewall may be preventing you from connecting. configure your router so that you can connect. if this doesn't work, you're going to have to manually configure your wireless connection.

STUPID ERROR CODE 51330!

Try setting your WII to a static IP address instead of DHCP - you should be able to see which addresses are being used on your routers status pages.

I cant get my wii to hook up to the router

Try resetting your router. Do this by having physical access to you router, and there should be a reset button (or hole) in the back of your router. You may need a pin or something very skinny to fit it through. Hold it for 20 or 30 seconds. After it is reset, type in your address bar 192.168.1.1. When a dialog box appears asking you for your username and password, leave the username field blank and type in admin for the password. The router configuration page should load up. Scroll down and change the Local IP Address to 192.168.2.1. Scroll down and click save settings. Atttempt to configure your Wii's wireless internet settings all over. Your Wii should be able to connect to the internet now.
