My Casio fx-300es plus won't always give an answer. For example 6.0*10^-6/1*10^16, it just says 0.000000 how can I get an answer

6*10^-6/1*10^16 = 6*10^(-22). This is a very very small number and will not display on your calculator unless you change it to scientific notation.

How to change a decimal value to binary number in fx-85GT PLUS ? Thanks!!

Let's do the preocess so it will work on any calculator.

As an example, convert 68 from decimal to binary.

The decimal columns are 10^0, 10^1, 10^2, 10^3, etc.

The binary columns are 2^0, 2^1, 2^2, 2^3, etc.

Flipping to the normal left to right, we get 2^6, 2^5, 2^4, 2^3, 2^2, 2^1, 2^0.

64 32 16 8 4 2 1

We divide our number, 68, by 64, and get 1 with a remainder of 4. We next divide our remainder by 32, 16, 8, and finally 4, where we get 1 with no reminder.

In binary, this works out to 1000100. To check, we multiply the ones by the respective column values and get 64 + 4 = 68.

There is no key per se but a command accessible as follows
[MATH][1:->Frac] the fractions given are always reduced/

27/48 [MATH][1:->Frac][ENTER] gives 9/16

0.25 [MATH][1:->Frac] [ENTER] gives 1/4

How do you square a fraction with a negative number like (3/4)^-2

Place both the base and the exponent in parentheses

(3/4)^(-2) then press enter. Your answer will be in decimal form at first 1.777...

Press MATH
Select the 1: Fraction option and it will convert your decimal value to the fraction answer of 16/9.

Negative exponents flip the fraction. For instance, (3/4)^(-1) = 4/3. So for (3/4)^(-2) you could just square the numerator and denominator separately to get 9/16, and then flip the fraction to account for the negative. That will give you 16/9.
