Epson Aculaser CX11NF

Good multifunction for about 1-1/2 years. Now it gives me an error - Paper Jam E. I looked and looked and there was no paper jam. Turned on and off and still getting same error. It is out of warranty, I am told and I have to drive about an hour to get it to the nearest service depot. Are there any solutions to this error?

I am wondering, could it possibly be a sensor? Would you know where the sensors are located on this printer?

  • Iamconfused Feb 09, 2008

I went through it again and there is absolutely nothing in "E" and "F". I have gone through it several times. There is no paper stuck anywhere. Iamconfused

I've reviewed your printer design and suspect there is truely a "paper jam" located in the process feeder. If you will follow the directions for cleaning the printer head located on page 15/16 of the link below, I bet you will find your lost paper. This printer requires a long path of travel for the printed paper to eject. The printer head is about the half-way point of its travel, so this would be a great place to investigate.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but in order to assure this is not a hardware issue.. Please indulge me. :-)

Referencing the PDF I sent earlier; on page 1/16 second illustration. Have you opened cover "E" and "F" to find no obstructions also?

I can't think of any software or programming flaws that may have caused this. A sensor may be your nemesis for this issue. I cannot find any information regarding sensors for your model. I have found another document that covers several pages on paper jams. It may be worth looking at. Start on page 112/144.

Unfortunatly, your suspicion of a malfunctioned sensor will require you to get in touch with a repairman.

One more thing, I have found there is a memory module (RAM) located in the unit. Removing it and unplugging for an hour may clear the memory for you.

Printer fixed. open door E. look in center of black "fins" just below the large silver roller. there is a small plastic tab protruding out of fins, this is the E sensor. push it in, and it should push itself back out. ( spring loaded) if not its come apart inside. the sensor is an IR sensor that this tab pushes in and breaks the IR beam.
remove door E,
remove 4 main screws on outside of black unit.
remove 4 more screws in middle area of unit, above and below rollers.
now this whole unit will pull out, carefully unplug terminal connections.
look inside to see sensor fix black tab,
or disbale sensor (not recomended) if unrepareable.
re asimble and printer works good as new.
NO PAPER JAM.

I cleared the paper jam on my cx11n but still the lcd states paperjam, how do I fix this?

did your paper jam in E area? make sure you did not damage the sensor actuator as if you did, it will show paper jam... to check, open the rear cover and on the middle you will be able to see a small plastic , if that actuator is out of position, you will need to open the whole transport assy to repair it. It's better to have an experience tech to look at it as to remove the whole trans assy need bit of technical skill. It's only 4 screws to remove it but putting it back and not causing paper feed error is the difficult part.

hello!

Do you use a required paper substance, this also a cause of paper jump, Or this machine maybe need a general cleaning to all each parts because the sensor that cause to paper jump is not function well. You should properly seat all the parts after cleaning it. and if this not resolve then, to drive an hour to the repair tech maybe is the best solution.

How do I fix a paper jam cef for epson aculaser cxn11nf?

Diagram of doors should be above control panel of printer.

Lift ADF/Scanner up. Open door "C" just below it. Lift orange photoconductor lever up to release photoconductor. Lift photo conductor up towards you. Inspect for jammed paper and remove if necessary. Replace photoconductor, close lever and door "C".

Open door "E" on rear of printer and look for jammed paper and remove. Close door "E".

Last place to look is in paper tray. Take stack of paper out and look for paper jam. Removed as needed.

These are the three places i have had jams and you will only find the jam in one of them. Most likely it will be in back in Door E

Epson aculaser cx11nf MP E paper jam

open the mp tray
locate 2 white plastic egg shaped piece on the ends of the steel rod
gently push one or the other towards the back of the machine
if the paper jam error message is on then the roller will turn as soon as you give it a push
re load the paper
open and close door a or e
printing should resume
that white piece works with the paper lift to get the paper up to the in feed roller

Hey T-Mo

This is a common error that relates to the paper pick up failing to pick up paper. There is a counter measure available that explains the full cause of the issue:

Get it HERE.

The problem can also be caused by a broken or dislodged sensor in the rear section of the machine. The sensor gets knocked or pulled out of place and blocks an optical sensor fooling the printer into thinking there is paper stuck when there is not. Look in the back of the machine and check the operation of the sensor flag.
