C330 will not charge using supplied cable

When removed from the box unit seemed to have worked ok. After battery low came on the unit turned it self off. After plugging unit into car's cigarette lighter
there were no change, unit continues to power off even with charge cable attached. I plugged unit into computer port and successfully down-loaded up-dates. Unit seems to be charging now from computer. It is on now. When I place in back in my vehicle will should it re-charge or deplete again and if so what then should I do.

I have the same problem. I have left it plugged into computer for two days and still turns off when I unplug it. Could it be a problem withe the driver? I don't go on long enough rides to charge in the car.

I have experienced the same problem. The cause of the problem seems to be the bad contact between the navigator and the cradle. If the contact can be improved, the problem will disappear. How to improve the contact ?
Any suggestions are welcom.

It should function now. If you have any further problems, try charging from the computer for about 10 hours. This sometimes solves problems like yours.

Low Battery notice kept coming on

TRY RESETTING THE UNIT - Also - charge the unit over night with a WALL CHARGER - this helped when mine pulled that same stunt. Eventually it went away after charging it over night in the wall. Here's how to reset -it just puts everything back to factory settings - 1- Turn unit on WHILE HOLDING your thumb in the lower right corner as shown in picture. 2-Select YES 5770b9e.jpg

My c330 turns on but ten goes off in about 10 to 15 bseconds. It says low battery. I ave two cargers for it and neiter seems to be carging te unit. Is it possible tat this is due to te extreme cold weater...

Are you trying to charge the unit in the car, on the computer, or both? If you are trying both methods, it is possible that you may need a new battery. First, try resetting the unit though. Remove the faceplate, and find the reset button on the right side of the unit. Press this, and see if you can use the unit on the charger.

My gps reads LOW BATTERY

plug your unit to your computer using a USB cable (included in the package bought) and be sure to separate the unit from the cradle before trying to charging it.

For me, if I leave the unit on the cradle an plug it to my computer, i'm draining the battery instead of charging it

How to charge battery?

In most cases you use your cigarette lighter that came with your unit to charge the battery. I myself have a home ac to dc converter to charge mine with.

My garmin c330 will not run it had said battery low. Even in car lighter it will not stay on. When I push the power button it will power up and shut down right away

The Garmin C330 has an internal Lithum Ion battery that needs to be recharged. Use your USB cable that came with the device to connect it to you computer. The computer of course has to be on. Leave it connected to the computer all day or over night. After that time it should be charged completely. If it is not charged after that time the unit will have to be returned to Garmin to have the battery replaced.

Question: Why won't my StreetPilot c3xx power on?
Found on the Garmin web site --> Answer: If your StreetPilot does not power on, or if it turns on then turns off, you can troubleshoot the problem by resetting or charging the unit. The reset is a "soft" reset that you can perform in the car; it restores power to the unit, but it does not remove data.
To reset the unit:
  1. Place the unit in the cradle and roll it backwards slightly to lock it in place.
  2. With the key in the car ignition, turn on the unit or put it in accessory mode.
  3. On the face plate of the unit, put your thumb nail in the groove under the Garmin logo and gently pull off the face plate.
  4. With the face plate removed, press the reset button on the right side.
  5. Turn the unit back on. If the unit still doesn't power on, you may need to charge it.
To charge the unit:
  1. Using the provided USB cable, connect the device to the computer.
  2. Reset the unit (following instructions above).
  3. Keep the device connected to the computer and allow it to charge overnight (7-8 hours).
  4. After charging, unplug the unit and power it on.
//changed this line from 'solution1description.innerHTML' to use getElementById //to prevent FF warnings. They both appeared to work, but this is cleaner. solution = document.getElementById('solution1description').innerHTML; Last modified on: 03/10/2008

What is the purpose of the car plug with the c330?

If you charged the GPS using the USB cable from a computer, this is too low a current for the size of battery that it has. You must use the dedicated AC charger, or the car charger.

If your unit has a battery in it that is older than about 3 to 4 years, it is possible that the battery is no longer able to hold the full charge.

The service rep for your GPS can change the battery for you if it is no longer holding the charge.

Garmin 330 battery

"my garmin c330 will not charge in the car while traveling?it has a full charge when i head out but after 4 hours it shows low battery,i was thinking the gps was supose to charge with the car adapter plug in.my will not charge."

There is a problem with the cable or the cigarette lighter power supply. If the cigarette is working then when you start the car the Garmin should turn on and when you turn off the engine the Garmin should shut down. If you are manually turn the unit on/off then it is not running off the cigarette lighter power supply. Check to make sure there is power coming from the cigarette lighter.
