When removed from the box unit seemed to have worked ok. After battery low came on the unit turned it self off. After plugging unit into car's cigarette lighter there were no change, unit continues to power off even with charge cable attached. I plugged unit into computer port and successfully down-loaded up-dates. Unit seems to be charging now from computer. It is on now. When I place in back in my vehicle will should it re-charge or deplete again and if so what then should I do.
I have experienced the same problem. The cause of the problem seems to be the bad contact between the navigator and the cradle. If the contact can be improved, the problem will disappear. How to improve the contact ?
Any suggestions are welcom.

TRY RESETTING THE UNIT - Also - charge the unit over night with a WALL CHARGER - this helped when mine pulled that same stunt. Eventually it went away after charging it over night in the wall.
Here's how to reset -it just puts everything back to factory settings -1- Turn unit on WHILE HOLDING your thumb in the lower right corner as shown in picture.2-Select YES
Are you trying to charge the unit in the car, on the computer, or both? If you are trying both methods, it is possible that you may need a new battery. First, try resetting the unit though. Remove the faceplate, and find the reset button on the right side of the unit. Press this, and see if you can use the unit on the charger.
The Garmin C330 has an internal Lithum Ion battery that needs to be recharged. Use your USB cable that came with the device to connect it to you computer. The computer of course has to be on. Leave it connected to the computer all day or over night. After that time it should be charged completely. If it is not charged after that time the unit will have to be returned to Garmin to have the battery replaced.
Question: Why won't my StreetPilot c3xx poweron?
Found on the Garmin web site -->
If your StreetPilot does not poweron, or if it turns on then turns off, you can troubleshoot the problem by resetting or charging the unit. The reset is a "soft" reset that you can perform in the car; it restores power to the unit, but it does not remove data.
To reset the unit:
Place the unit in the cradle and roll it backwards slightly to lock it in place.
With the key in the car ignition, turn on the unit or put it in accessory mode.
On the face plate of the unit, put your thumb nail in the groove under the Garmin logo and gently pull off the face plate.
With the face plate removed, press the reset button on the right side.
Turn the unit back on. If the unit still doesn'tpoweron, you may need to charge it.
To charge the unit:
Using the provided USB cable, connect the device to the computer.
Reset the unit (following instructions above).
Keep the device connected to the computer and allow it to charge overnight (7-8 hours).
After charging, unplug the unit and power it on.
//changed this line from 'solution1description.innerHTML' to use getElementById
//to prevent FF warnings. They both appeared to work, but this is cleaner.

"my garmin c330 will not charge in the car while traveling?it has a full charge when i head out but after 4 hours it shows low battery,i was thinking the gps was supose to charge with the car adapter plug in.my will not charge."
There is a problem with the cable or the cigarette lighter power supply. If the cigarette is working then when you start the car the Garmin should turn on and when you turn off the engine the Garmin should shut down. If you are manually turn the unit on/off then it is not running off the cigarette lighter power supply. Check to make sure there is power coming from the cigarette lighter.
