Your thermostats have most likely gone they are situated at the back of the machine on top of the heater

Hotpoint TDC62 drying light does not come on. It flashes briefly when you press the start button but then goes straight off. Why?

The orange relay switch (Schrack RT314024) on the circuit board of the dryness module (blue colour) is faulty. RS electrics and Farnell has it. Costs £2.50. Mine had the same problem and changing it sorted it. I also replaced all the four small electrolyte capacitors on the circuit board (which you don't have to replace - I am a bit fussy with capacitors).
Your thermostats and heating elements are good (don't change these).

Had my TCD60 for ten years, and never needed to replace that relay. BUT every 12 to 18 months one of the thermostats has failed. Doesn't matter which one, because you can only buy them as a pair so might as well replace both. They are different temperatures so be sure to note where the green spot one goes.

Testing - when cool, both thermostats should be closed - that is, you get continuity, zero ohms. Disconnect one wire from each if unsure to avoid getting a false reading by measuring through the other circuitry.

When you get used to it it's a ten minute job, but don't put any pressure on the heater element (as I once did with my knee working in a confined space) because it's very very fragile.

Several reasons for it not to heat.
Obviously faulty heater, and or thermostat(s). You need meter to test. Heater and stats are located at the rear of the m/c behind a removable panel.
Faulty programmer, faulty heater relay.
Check filters etc, refer to instructions for this.
Plz leave feed back on this .
Thanks.

That trouble is cause by an heater that is already open- no connectivity. Also the wire connected to it.
I hope I answer your problem.

Hi,
I think the problem still lies with the thermal switches, they have a tendancy to corrode where the spade connector attaches to the body (see pic)
Hope this helps......Dave26db4bc.jpg

Hotpoint Utima Logic Sensing Condenser TDC62

lewensc...this sounds like a classic timer issue. Before replacing it, first turn off your mains breakers and then back on. Check all wiring from the breaker panel to the unit. If okay, then have a quick look at the items in the dryer and test them using a multi tester. If nothing is amiss, replace the timer.
