Hey there.. pls help.. i have been using nokia 5300 for more than a year.. i dropped it a couple of times but it still works fine.. recently, when i open my music player, and select the first track from the artist or album list, it plays the first track of the 'all songs' list.. when i select track no. 2 from another artist list, it plays the 2nd track from the 'all songs' list..
i then restart my phone and memory card, and open music player.. it updates the player.. when it reaches 100%, it says starting music player, but then it goes back to 30% and starts loading again.. i have tried waiting for it to load but it just repeats..
also, sometimes a certain tracklist successfully loads in the current playlist, but it only plays 3 of the 6 songs in the actual playlist..
please help.. i cant reservice my phone as it has run out of warranty.. thank you!!

just remove your MMC n just type *#7370# n will ask u the security code.type it out (default code is 12345 )
NOTE: battery must b full, else if format is disrupted by low batt, consequences will b disastrous
I heard the code *#7780# works too, pretty much the same i think.
but back up everything before doing this onto ur computer or MMC.. dont forget to rate me.. thank you sir
hey there. you have only had it for 5 months which is good you found the problem. you should have a 12 month waranty with your provider so it can be sent back to nokia and everything fixed for free as long as there is no physical damage other wise you will have to pay! they should tell you instore. it sounds like you have a software issue so they need to put new software on there which they will. you will be without a phone for a while but they may give you a loan phone for the meantime.(turning on/off means software issue)
the way you were transfering it with the drag to phone icon is correct!
the only thing before you take it back to get fixed you must save all contacts photos/ files etc because they will all be lost! its getting everything back to square one!! take out the memory card before you give it back! they might flog it! and the sim of course, also take your paper work if you can find it. from when you signed up with the phone. have imei number on thier for warranty purposes. if not they should be able to obtain it for you.
I had some problems at first but don't think i had this. Anyway, there are at least 3 different ways to copy music that I can think of. Nokia Music Manager (tho this can be slow), Copy from 'My music' in Xp (Music in Vista) or copy from Windows Media Player. You could also put your phone into Data Transfer mode rather than Nokia Mode and transfer the files in file manager. Hope this helps. By the way, if anyone wants to upgrade to a 5310, it should be a great little phone similar to 5300 but slim but I've had problems with it cutting out during playback and re-booting. My old 5300 which my friend now has, the speaker has just bust! I will be getting Sony Erricsson next!
