Re: PS3 wont read disks
Ts a problem with the latest download update. sorry to say but its a
job for sony as long as its still under warranty. just phone them up
explain the probs your having and they will send you a new (normally
reconditioned) unit out. sony's replacement service is very good.

Try making an alternate user on the system itself and log into PSN. It might be that when you turned the system off the hard drive was in the process of writing and there's a possiblity that the user data was corrupted.
ok as you know the ps3 uses blu laser technology but they still use a red laser as well ps2 dvd cd psone all use red and you know which use the blu so problem with that means that your blu laser went out. you can fix this yourself its real simple takes about 10 min and $80 or pay sony $200 message back if you want to know how
does this only happen with CoD4? If so you may have a faulty disk. Goto your local blockbuster and rent CoD4 and see if it does the same thing. If it does, you need to RMA your ps3 877-253-SONY and request a RMA.
playing a game lots for extented periods of time is knowen to damage te disk. this is not verry common but it can happen, especily if you have been leving the game on the lobby screen while u go out for dinner. leaving the disk somewhere warm can also do this. unfortunately the only way to solve this is to buy a new disk.
