Okay this is a power issue, depending on the model of your unit what you may need to replace is ether the power board or just the inverter board. On some of the Westinhouse models the power board and the inverter board are on the same board which is called the LIPS board but this agan is only in some models. What I would recommend doing is to contact the Westinghouse parts department at [email protected] for some further information, you will need to include contact information along with model # and serial # of your unit.

When you turn on the TV it just shows the lg symbol for half a second and then the screen goes black and it turns off

Hi Anonymous,
It appears to be the backlight problem. Most probably the inverter has gone bad. May I request to kindly mention the model number of the set when you post a problem next time.
Thanks and good luck.

Acer 4650 Travelmate Black screen

Try start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, OR System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.

Everytime i turn on my lcd tv it turns on and the pictur goes off

there are flourescent tubes inside that can be replaced, they help to alluminate the screen. There are these other boards inside that can malfunction too, best to take the unit to a technician.
