Question about Sony KP-65XBR10W 65" Rear Projection Television
I have a Sony KP-65xrb10w. (65" rear projection HD). I have a Sony surround receiver that is about 15 yrs old. I am using the TV’s speakers as the Center. The Center speakers quit working on all Video selections - 1,2,3, and DTV. I bought a new receiver thinking that might be the issue ( I know, I didn’t think of hooking another speaker to the center output, besides I wanted to have a switchable HDMI output). The Center still didn’t work. I took the back off the TV and was checking the connecters to the audio board. I was reconnecting the Center wires to the "Center in" clips and I think one of the wires touched a large heat dissipater (looks kinda like a radiator - is about 2x4x3 inches).
This blew a 6.3 amp fuse close on the Power Supply board. The main power supply fuse did not blow. I replaced the fuse, but now I have no power. Won’t turn on with either remote or front button. I know its drawing some current because I can hear / see some arcing in the AC outlet when I plug it in the wall outlet. I can call a repair guy, but if this is a matter of replacing a board, I can do that myself. I decided to skip using the TV speakers for the Center, unless you have a suggestion for that as well.
Thanks for any help.
