Question about EliteGroup nForce3-A Motherboard

1 Answer

Powers on but no video.

Brand new elitegroup NFORCE3-A with a new Sempron 64 3000+processor, brand new hard drive with no operating system on it yet, brand new video card and brand new power supply. This powers on but has no video and has a single beep that keeps beeping. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Your motherboards RAM is not working properly. First you try getting it out and installing again. If that not work you can change with other one.

Can windows 7 be installed on asus k8v-mx mb with amd sempron 2.4 1gb ddr1ram

this is the minimum spec for Windows 7:

  • Processor: 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
  • Memory: 1 GB of system memory
  • Hard drive: 16 GB of available disk space
  • Video card: Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128MB memory (in order to enable Aero theme)
  • Drive: DVD-R/W drive
  • Internet connection (to download the Beta and get updates)
Its not the motherboard, its the processor speed, RAM size, and hard drive space, and video card capability that counts.Your processor speed well meets this criteria and also your RAM size is within spec for Windows 7, and im sure you will have in excess of 16GiG hard drive space. So its all down to your video card. You may need to install DirectX 9.Hope this helps :)

I cannot get a sata 500gb hard drive to work on my nforce3 - a939 board

Verify that SATA is enabled in the motherboard bios. If the drive is new, you will need to go into disk management and set it up for use.

Looking for a compatible processor for this mobo

It is impossible to fry a motherboard by using the wrong processor, the board simply won't post. You can use a chart at the ECS website, your motherboard is a Socket A type. Looks like the fastest processor that they have tested is a Athlon XP 3000+.

NFORCE3-A CPU fan & LED come on, nothing else, no beep or video

If the RAM is incompatible with your board then yes it would not allow a boot. Make sure your front panel power wire is plugged into the proper spot on the motherboard and retry. If it's the RAM then you will still have the problem. If it was the wire loose or in wrong spot then it should work. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Can't Enter Setup/Can't Access BIOS

Could be that your PATA drive is pooched. Have you tried accessing the bios with the sata drive in, how about with both drives connected, how about with none.

Try a ps2 keyboard as well, as it may work on the legacy bios option.

No Lan appears

king,
  1. Chek out in your BIOS that the LAN is enabled or not, if there is option it must be enabled.
  2. First install your chipset driver then your on board LAN will be avail for windows. After that you can install the LAN drive
  3. Might be the driver is not for your chipset, so also varify that you have proper driver for your device and Operating system.

If any more question...just Ask me

Thanks
Iqbal

ECS Nforce3 A Powers down

Doubt its the bios. Did you install the sata drivers during boot? When u say it powers down does it just switch off or blue screen first?
