Hi Folks
Have anew Abit IP95 motherboards which fails to power up, no LED no fan
and a sligght smellof burning!!
Tried stripdown to CDrom and 80GB drive only but still no power up.
Tried 2 PSUs
Supply correct, switch connected and continuity is correct.
Put 20 pin ATX intosupply conneted pin 1 to top
and the 4 pin CPU supply to the 4 pin connector i.a.w. the manual.
Any ideas have checked mobo for signs of shorts and burn but nothing seen,
Help would be much apprecited

Ok, try connecting just one thing at a time - start of with just your board and the power supply... still smell burning? There's probably an issue with the power supply - no fans & leds would indicate this too (can you hear anything when you power up?)
What cooling have you been using - weird quetion, but is there any chance there could be moisture on the board? (either from water cooling or from condensation in the room)

ussualy when you have problems like this 1st you check the power supply..than the video card and ramms and then mother board itself.
but if you smell burn.I suggest you get on the computer with the case open and look inside..the smell comes with a spark if theres short circuit or tipical noise or sort of burning smoke...you may find the source like that..try and see if theres something change...
