Goodmans Tv wont show dvds

I have had my Goodmans 1475TS tv for years now and its fine but i decied to attach a DVD player to it. The problem is that i no longer have a remote for the tv because it broke and when i play the dvd everything works apart from the picture. The sound works and the dvd plays but not the picture. Im not sure if i just cant get the channel to play the dvd. or if you have to press AV for it to play, but of course i cnat do this because i havnt got a remote any more. Is there any way i can get a dvd to play properly by just usung the DVD player control and the buttons on the front of my TV???? please help!!

Usually with DVD players, picture & no sound, or sound & no picture is caused by the scart lead not being plugged in properly.

Sound pins are at one end of the connector and audio pins at the other.

If you are using scart make sure that the plugs at both ends are pushed in all the way. The plastic part of the plug should just touch the socket.

If you are using S-Video (Round connector with 4 pins) you also need to connect a twin phono-phono (Red & Black or White) lead to carry the audio, as S-Video only carries video.

Hi I have a Bauhn DVD TV from Aldi approx 1 year old. It's played DVDs great until I watched a movie on a USB. Now it won't recognise the DVDs and shoots them out after making a clicking noise. Sorry...

Hmm... I think there are many possible answers to this.
- Try to select DVD manually.
- Try to add a DVD while your USB stick is attached.
- Try to pull the wall power cable. Wait for 20 minutes, then plug it in and start the DVD player.
Very strange... Do you have a guarantee?

Hi, I bought this LG RC897T 2 years ago and have only used the DVD player about 60 times. I've bought original "US" TV Box set dvds and Chinese knock-offs, and wrote my own dvds and they all...

Hello Mark. Most likely your player is regionalized and not compatable ith those DVD's that won't play. To eliminate the regional setting on your player go to this link http://www.wisebread.com/make-your-dvd-player-region-free-in-seconds

It contains the step by step instructions on how to make your player region free. It also has an how to video and a full explanation of why the regionalization was installed in the first place. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

How do I retune my Goodmans 1475TS ?

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

No signal on tv

Manually change the TV to the relevant AV channel.

Also you don't need both the S-video and the yellow RCA connection. Use one or the other.

Goodmans 1430R TV (bought 10 years ago) switched off in middle of program by itself and no longer works.

Oh come on man the sets tired!!!LOL no really you got plenty of use out of this bugger. Your problem sounds like something opened in the power supply and since the sets all solid state theres no user serviceable parts inside them. If you really wanted to put cash into a 10 year old set for an estimate/? i would not . But if you like the set go for it. Good luck
