If you have the owners manual to the car the code is located int the backside of the owners manual if not use the index the code should be in there. If no owners manual you have to call a dealership and ask them using your vehicle identification number (vin).

And radio turns on but still no start.

ok all cars ran before we all know that ,what matters is only NOW and tomorrow.
the starter is dead that is the only real clue.
my sisters ranger had manual transmission does yours>?
dead or dim head lamps and wipers and blinkers dead. mean you just lost all 12vdc power, yes that hammer trick ive done for 50yeaer and is right.
radios use about 1/10 th the power of brake or blinker
blinks are 1amp, radio is 0.1amps or even less. so the radio will in fact run on a near dead, battery, even 10vdc *****.
the starter uses 3000 more power to crank and engine 300 amps
so the battery is dead. (or caused by bad alternator and you ignored the cluster charger lamp>?
here are all causes (not guess a test for each to prove it)
1; BATTERY DEAD.
2: ALTERNATOR DEAD CAUSES #1
3: JUMPER CABLE JUMP STARTS WORK (AAA TOW TRUCK DID IT?) or buy a battery charger and charge up the battery or barrow one good from 2nd good car. the battery swap trick.
4: NOT ABOVE. (ORDER MATERS) I then shift from PARK to Neutral and engine magically cranks, bad PNDRL switch.
5: bad starter relay. (if starter dead but relay is silent took, bingo relay or #4 caused)
6: stick shift gear box truck, clutch pedal switch bad, acting just like #4, and for the exact same reason bad switch.

if stranded, Not told
#4 is first. omg I'd driving home the users guide even tells starter cranks fast in NEUTRAL too, foot on brake.

Radio code

bad news. you didn't read the operators guide in the glove box.
it says , dont pull battery or run it dead or the radio codes are lost.
it says, get the radio code first day you get car.
when the car was new, in the gove box was also a code card.
if all that is lost?
you must take the radio serial number to the dealer ....
it says that too.
the operators guide is free,

Anything special to do when changing the battery in a 2005 toyota avalon

the only problem you might have is you will lose all of your pre-set radio stations, if your radio has a security code it will not work until it is recoded, if it is coded there will be a red light blinking when the ignition is removed,if there is no light blinking it may not be coded, but it is best to connect another battery to your battery terminals before you remove them....hope this helps....cheers

Radio reads safe

The radio reads "safe" because you lost power to the radio. Either the battery was replaced, the battery was dead, or one of the terminals was disconnected. You will need to take the serial number from the radio to your local VW dealer where he can call in to obtain the programming code for your radio. The dealers usually do not charge in order for you to obtain the code.

2002 xjr 100 radio will not power after battery change

If the battery went dead and you charged it, you need to reboot the system. It has lost them function of radio.
Disconnect both side of the battery and with the battery disconnected, crank the car 3-4 times (This just discharges the computers). Then reconnect the battery cables (pos + first) and you should have a working radio again.
