You could check documentation on your Router at the manufacturer's website. If you luck out, however, you will find a hole in the back of the router which you can stick a pin into, which automatically resets the router back to it's defaut state when you first got it. Then use your computer software to set it up again.

I have a PK5001z. I can not get the modem to accept the password to join IPhone to modem. Is the password the key/passphrase? What do I need to do to make modem to accept the password?

Check your PK5001z wifi security mode. If it is WEP, you will need to change it as WEP is old and not compatible with many smartphones. Change it to WPA and you should be able to link to the iPhone.

However many times I change my password ( accepted ) it will not give me access to my mail or e-mails !

well, it doesn't really matter how many times to change the password. just be sure that you were able take note of the correct password. that is important. or even do a hard reset of your router to restore the default settings before changing it.

I use a netgearDG834g router. I need to adjust the NAT settings so that my son can use his XBox. I have forgotten the netgear login and password. Can i start from scratch by using hte factory reset button...

If you reset your router you will need to reconfigure all the setting, like broadband username and password, as well as wep/wpa/tkip keys for wireless security. Once this is all done you need to allow the port through the firewall, but you have to specify the destination ip address of the XBox as server address in the inbound rule of the firewall. It will then do a port address translation from outside ip address to inside XBox address only for traffic destined to that port specified in the firewall entry.

First check that you do not have capitals lock in.Then try again the following whilst you put on your browser.

Default: 'username: admin password: password".
'username: admin password: 1234".
'username: admin password: 'blank empty space here'".

If all the above does not work then your router had been used, and password changed, or is fault. in this case bring it back and ask replacement.
There is also a reset button at the back of router. It is a tiny hole where you stick a pencil on router startup to get reset. But if the router is new and does not get default user/password I suggest changing it, It is possibly a return, and you do not know if you get more troubles after reset.
