I am having the same problems not only with ebay but also hotmail.
I am a computer noob so i have been relying on programs to fix it but none seem to have worked including a registry cleaner.
I have been doing a lot of reading on differant forums and seems there are a lot of solutions and differant causes. Most of which I dont understand. All to technical. I am after step by step instructions if anyone can be of any help??
I also had 2 trojan horse on my computer and i had nod32 installed which seems to have cleared them up but I am wondering if this could have been the cause as my computer has not been the same since??

I receive the 1.1 Internal error when trying to access the Classmates website. I can access all other websites and click on the links without any problem. To solve this problem I was instructed to download and install a new browser. I deleted the cache, alt t and then released the keys, at the new menu, I clicked on clear browsing history, then cleared everything. I then keyed in www. firefox.com. 2. downloaded Mozilla 3. installed firefox. This is ok, no problem with any websites, however, the Classmates Website is still a problem. I now receive 1.1 Internal servor error. What is the solution to this problem?

Installed new browser, no go with ebay.

    Did anybody here recently;
    -Update Windows (or whatever OS)?
    -Get attacked by adware/crapware?
-Mess with registry or DELETE something 0r remove adware with a suitable App?

    Do you's;
-Have the worst luck (more frequent failures) on the australian ebay?
-Have better luck with other countries ebay sites?

the 'ads' have been 'casalemedia' and just different ones after that.

have cleaned registry and scanned with nod32AV but no go :(

I had the same problem with loading youtube
sometime it appears to be connection failure something like that, sometimes its this problem
and sometime i open the page, BUT the clip shows the video is unavailable.

i searched on the web...
some says:

  • type: about:config in address bar and type ipv6 change the value to true if its false

i tried that didnt work...

  • disabled some add-ons...
didnt work

  • delete the cookies
and it works for me...

i dont really know if the cookies were really the problem... but it appears to be... i may be wrong, maybe its a combination of all these... so try them

I had the same problem. What needs to be done is unistall Family Safty from the control panel. On using vista click on windows in bottom left. In Star search, Type family safty. And then Unistall. Then re-boot and their you go can then log into Ebay and also into Hotmail.

Recently installed Windows Live and Family Safety; then Mozilla Firefox started getting this error on Ebay pages: "Http/1.1 internal server error" or "bad request". If I would click the address bar and enter it would randomly show the page.

Un-installed the Family Safety program and now, no more error.

I have Trend Micro Security 2008 and this caused me to have problems gong on To Ebay.com.au.
Had to spend a few hours with a Tech Guy from Malaysia who created a patch for this problem..Was fixed !!
Now today i have the same problem.
I think Ebay change their security setting every 6 months or so and Trend Micro need to keep up with them!
Hope this helps!
Don't feel like spending another 1/2 hour having them download information from my pC to fix!!
May go back to Norton i think!!!

Internet explorer http internal server error 500 help gave it a day still cant get online!!!

Error 500 to 504 are usually nothing to do with your system, they are errors created by the server you are trying to connect to.

Introduction
A server (not necessarily a Web server) is acting as a gateway or proxy to fulfil the request by the client (e.g. your Web browser or our CheckUpDown robot) to access the requested URL. This server did not receive a timely response from an upstream server it accessed to deal with your HTTP request.

HTTP 400 Bad Request error shows when I try to do anything on Youtube

Your computer may be infected with spyware. Consider trying lavasoft ad-aware and AVG antivirus (both free) or any other combo of virus and adware scanning.

You may also try using a different browser. Try Firefox or Opera or Safari if you are using IE. If it doesnt do it in the other browsers, reset IE to factory defaults (tools, internet options, advanced, press reset, press reset to confirm)

If this happens in all browsers you will have to continue troubleshooting spyware/virus/configuration.

I wonder if the site is experiencing technical difficulties...you might try to wait for a few hours to see if it is the website..sometimes webmasters bring site down to update site and clean up servers.

Http/1.1 internal server error

If you are running two versions of ASP.NET, you may get HTTP:/1.1 500 Internal Server Error when creating a new Web project or opening an existing Web project in Visual Studio.

This problem may occur when IIS is not sure what version of ASP.NET to use or where to locate ASP.NET files. One of the following solutions should fix the problem.

Solution 1.

  1. Remove web.config file from inetpub/wwwroot directory
  2. Go to IIS, Right click on Default web site / All tasks / Check server extensions and let it run
  3. Reset IIS by right click on IIS or call iisreset from Run command

Solution 2.

  1. Install ASP.NET again using the following command from your Run command: C:WINNTMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv1.1.4322aspnet_regiis.exe
Make sure to change the windows folder and ASP.NET version folder with the version what you want to install
  2. Reset IIS

Solution 3. Applies to Windows Server 2003
Note: This is a Microsoft KB article:

When you try to create a new Microsoft ASP.NET 1.1 application after you change the script mapping of the existing ASP.NET 1.1 Web application to ASP.NET 1.0 on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer, you may receive the following error message:
The Web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhost/822319ev1'. 'HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error'.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because Windows Server 2003 does not allow two versions of ASP.NET to run in the same application pool.
WORKAROUND
To work around the problem, do one of the following:
Restart the IIS before you create a new ASP.NET 1.1 application. At the command prompt type the following command: iisreset
OR -
Create an ASP.NET application in a separate application pool. Create the script-mapped application (ASP.NET 1.0) in a separate application pool -- for example, in the ScriptMapappPool application pool. Then, create a new ASP.NET 1.1 application in an application pool other than ScriptMapappPool. For more information about how to create an application pool, visit the following Microsoft Web site: Configuring Application Pools http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/1kdfe21k(VS.80).aspx

Http/1.1 internal server error

you need to be using Internet Explore 6.0 or better or FireFox 3. These 2 are the most common browser, if you are using something else, then you need to find out from your ISP, if that browser works with their network.
you need to call your Internet provider. the http/1.1 is an error code saying that the Internet Information server is not available.
I don't think you would have a IIS server in your home, therefore, the next best thing is your ISP.
This is the way that you are able to get on to Internet; from your PC you are connected to the modem, from the modem, a signal is send to the IPS and in return the ISP verify that you are who you say you are. If all is verified, then the URL address you typed in will be direct to the website. Then the ISP and the website in contact will be in communication till you switch off or change to another web site.

Http 1.1 internal server error

eBay has been pretty good when I had the occasional glitch; email the problem to their tech support people or call them.
I wanted to give you a link but it contained my info after signing in so try to sign in and choose the Help function and then contact to access the various possibilities.
My account was hijacked a couple of years ago and they worked hard with me over several days to correct the problem without losing my eBay account completely since I didn't want to sacrifice years of 100% ratings.
