Im not able to store songs permanently in my sandisk e280.....after i store songs and listen to them,i turn the player off but when i turn it on again all the songs get erased and the song list shows empty....
what should i do????

I would recommend that you get the latest firmware upgrade for your device...Once you update the firmwar you shouldnt have the problem you are having now..To update the firmware go to: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

I put my e280 into msc mode so you are able to see the player's folder in windows explorer then I formatted it from there once this had completly formatted I disconnected the player and returned it to mtp usb mode and then re-connected it to my PC.
It recognised the player and gave two options to sync with library I chose sync permanently with current library and it began to install music from the library.
The Sansa player will only recognize certain file formats. The songs with a Red X are not eligible to be transferred to your player, because their DRM license does not allow transfer to certain (or any) mp3 players.
It is best to use songs that are in mp3 format only. They will give you fewer headaches.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. There is a problem with the device firmware itself..you can try to reset the player by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds or until it resets....the latest firmware for the e280 resolved much of the freezing issues....also there are two modes for you to use the e280 the msc and mtp.....try deleting in mtp mode....if that doenst solve it...just go to the sandisk site to get a firmware upgrade done...and that would solve the proplems..
