Have you tried plugging external speakers or headphones?

I would check the usual...mute is off...volume is up...etc.

Good luck.

I dont have any sound on my acer 5600 laptop. Ive tried everything to get it to work. What should I do?

I want to know if what are the things that you have tried?

But if you have tried checking your device manager, I suggest you try checking it. Right Click on my computer, click on manage, device manager.... Look for a device which has a question mark on it or x.... if it has question mark or x...install the driver. if it's ok. make sure that the sound controller is not muted. You can find it in the bottom right side of your screen beside the clock.

Just got this used gateway 4025gz from a friend. i didnt have anything better so I put vista on it to clean it out and it runs fine but I cant get any sound. Drivers say they are up to date and everything...

Go to devise manager (Type Device manager on search box) and then remove/ uninstall the sound driver. Restart the laptop. Then it should work. If the same problem still there, Right click on sound driver and select update driver.

Sound is not working

Try doing a check in the device manager for flags.
Remove any flags and remove any external devices.
Reboot the unit in safe mode and see if you get the same error messages2.gif.
If so, you can remove your sound and modem drivers in the device manager and reload from restoration disks or partation. Or you can allow windows to reload the drivers after a reboot.
If you are useing VISTA2.gif the best way is to type in recovery manager, and choose re-install hardware but you should have removed the audio and modem drivers first.
Hope this helps, Please readers rate your techs

No audio devices installed

Do you have windows XP or Vista?
Do you have sigmatell audio card?

When this happens go to start->run type in services.msc and press run.
Find Windows audio service. Right click and select properties. SElect start type "automatic" and click on start.
Audio should work.
Please leave your feedback if issue was solved or if you still have that problem

Vista Premium wireless network callapse

Go into device manager, under control panel, go into network adapters, select your wireless adapter, right click on it, click uninstall, if you're with vista, it'll prompt you to delete the drivers, just leave that box unchecked then click ok. After the adapter is gone, click on action on device manager then click scan for hardware changes. The wifi adapter should be re installed. after you check that the wifi adapter is back on the list, you can exit device manager. Click start, connect to, try to reconnect to your router and it should work fine. After you have established internet connection and you can browse, you can download tthe Skype program again.

Hope this helps
