Xbox goes xboxlive from xbox side yet through pc i cant play it even tho pc has picked xbox up but when i do network check from xbox side it says ip adress failed

if you have a usb modem and a laptop it is real easy. I hav been playing xboxlive in nigeria since i move here, but it is not as much fun. your ping or latency is goin to be really high because of the facts that there is no xboxlive in nigeria and nigerian internet aint that good. you will hav to join British or American xboxlive. its sumtimes fustratating. ill give the steps in any case
1) connect xbox 360 to laptop with ethernet cable
2) change ur ip of xbox to 192.168.0.2, and ur pc ip to 192.168.0.1
3) do not do anything to DNS
4) Go to network and sharing center >> manage network connections >> right click on dail up icon >> properties >> click on sharing tabs, and check all blocks. click apply ok and what not
5) try to connect to xbox live, it wont work right away, so try and try
6) if u hav any problems, search it on google
NOTE: Thins is for Windows Vista and Windows 7

If it works are your friends but not yours. It is probably your network configuration. Just let the XBOX perform its connection check and it will tell you if it is getting a network address (i.e. 192.168.0.xxx). If not, it is probably a bad cable or maybe DHCP is not turned on in the router settings. If it gets an network address and fails, maybe your router firewall is blocking connections or just is not compatible with the XBOX. If your XBOX can't connect to XBOX Live, then here is the trouble shooting procedure:

Your ISP (or router) might be blocking ICMP. From a PC connected to the router, open a command prompt and type
"ping www.xboxlive.co.uk" you should get the following

Pinging www.xboxlive.co.uk [213.171.195.53] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 213.171.195.53: bytes=32 time=45ms TTL=246

If you don't get the reply then check the firewall settings on your router for ICMP. If this is enabled, run the following command on the PC

tracert 213.171.195.53

You'll get a line of IP addresses, and if the trace doesn't complete, it will tell you where in the network ICMP is being blocked.

(These are the addresses for the UK, other countries will be similar)

Was this purchased while connect to your friends connection? if so then the problems is that it was purchased with his connection and not your own

go to your router. find what your ip pool is. choose an ip that is in that pool. set up your xbox's internet manually. you need the gateway, DNS, and everything (you can find this on your router online) this will give your xbox a static IP and might fix your problem

I tried everything and eventually figured this out.  Do this!

Enable DHCP set the start ip to 192.168.1.100, and remove any static IP address on your xbox 360 (have it automatically detect connections)
Set the MTU to 1364.
enable UPnP.
if you are using wrt-dd (if you aren't, you should be)  setup QoS so xboxlive has premium priority.

And you have hit the ground running.  Even microshats own website wont' help you fix this stupid problem.

i cant play x-box Live and i just played it just a few hours ago and its saying, Cant connect to XboxLive select Test conection to trouble shoot, or try recovering your profile.
