IOGear GCS62 2-port switching problem

I am failing to switch from one PC to another. I am not the one who set up and do not know the hot keys to use. Is there a way I can do it. It's my first time to use it and I found the manual missing when I joined this company. It is working fine I am sure but only that I do not know how to switch to another PC.

Give the hint or tips.

I have a similar IOGear KVM switch. I use the Scroll Lock button twice to switch between PCs.

Hit the Scroll Lock button twice see if that does it for you.

I have this switch hooked up to my PC and Xbox 360.. everything works correctly, however when this was given to me.. it had no instructions of sorts.. how do I switch the inputs?

Press the Scroll Lock key twice to toggle between the two machines. (Either the right or left scroll lock key will work) .

There is also an auto-scan mode which is accessed by pressing the Left Shift key and then the Right Shift key within about 0.5 seconds. This shows the screen for each machine alternating at a set rate until you press the Spacebar. The active screen when the spacebar is pressed becomes the active manual.

The manual is available at: http://www.iogear.com/support/dm/manual/GCS62#display .

I hope this helps.

This worked great for a couple of months and now

It may be possible that the KVM has gone bad. Make sure the keyboard is plugged into the keyboard port of the KVM as this is the only port on the KVM that will recognize the hot key commands. If you have ensured the keyboard is plugged into the keyboard port and you have tried multiple keyboard and still experience problems I would assume the KVM is having problems. IOGear KVMs have a three year warranty and their support can be reached by email support@iogear.com.

I am looking for the hotkey combination for our HP 336044-b21 KVM switch from a iogear KVM?

IOGEAR KVM switches uses Scroll Lock for the hot key. The models of IOGEAR KVM switches starts the letters "GCS". I don't think that your HP 336044-b21 came from IOGEAR.

Anyway, if that's an IOGEAR KVM switch, you may quickly press Scroll Lock twice + Enter (for two port KVM).

Scroll Lock twice + port # + Enter (for 4 port, or 8 port KVM).

NOTE: You need to verify the brand of your KVM switch by referring to the user manual of it.

Thank you and good luck!

Repeated IOGear KVM switch failures

As a wild guess, it sounds like a static discharge MIGHT be affecting the switcher causing it to crash.

Try increasing your humidity to 40% and grounding yourself before touching the keyboard... This is the season for these static electricity problems... get nipped all the time and you MAY not even feel it to be enough to zap the switch.

Can't switch ports using PC keyboard

Make sure that your keyboard is connected to the keyboard port of the switch. The USB ports on the switch has pictures that indicates where the keyboard and mouse should be connected.

The hotkey combination is CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + Port no.(1,2,3 or 4) + ENTER

Note: "tap the keys one at a time and not at the same time"

KVM will only switch one way

Please make sure that the keyboard is hooked up on the KB port of the KVM. check underneath the GCS632U for the correct console port. you will see a keyboard and mouse icon. Make sure that the keyboard is connected to the keyboard port. tap scroll lock key twice to switch between computers.
