Question about Toshiba Satellite 5205-S703 Notebook
I have this crazy problem with my WIFI adapter. Its Brand New agere Mini-PCI PA3171U-1MPC Its the same model that My Laptop came with. The Problem is when I install it into the Mini-PCI slot My Laptop Will not Boot, Post Or anything. The Only thing That happens Is the power light turns on.. And with this model of laptop the only option i have for going through bios settings and that is done through Toshiba HW Utility In Windows. And there aren't many options in there for anything. I have tried almost everything. including using a 3rd party program to clear my cmos.. Help would be greatly appreciated..
I have the same problem. is there a mini-pci kill instruction in the bios if it didn't come with one from the factory ?

Ok, since you posted that it's the same model that your laptop came with, I will assume that the original had a problem and you are replacing it. If that's true, your problem may not have been with the adapter or the newly installed PCI Mini WiFi adapter is defective (this happens more often than one would think). Try another adapter if you can.
