I've never HAD nor FIXED your model, but have fixed other HPs with different problems before. Re: your hp envy 4500 model printer: I researched a little, finding this:
great product, January 12, 2014
Love the printer and it's performing great. I was thinking of giving this nice printer four 1/2 stars, because the direction should have emphasized more clearly that the paper holding tray must be pushed all the way back in to the printer not just the paper. So when you think the tray is all the way in give it another push. because one can not continue with any of the installations. It would not be fair to the product itself, to write negatively.
Found the above here: Page 4: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Envy-4500-Wireless-Printer/product-reviews/B00CIDQ470?pageNumber=4 or read more here about the paper tray:
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/HOW-TO-PULL-OUT-THE-PAPER-TRAY-ON-ENVY-e4500/td-p/3071717 It looks like the Paper Tray is persnickety on this model... Hope this leads you to a solution. {P.S. Recently when my almost 5 yr. old HP printer died-for good- I bought a "Brother" because I found they give you toll-free Tech Service "for the life of the printer"... and that's what I like!}
When you look at the radio to the right there are 2 small black rubber looking dots. Take a pin and use the tip to press in and you will then be able to adjust the clock. If you don't look at the clock closely you really don't notice them. If the dots are not present give me more infor on your radio. Like if its a tape deck, tape/cd, multi cd.
Nevermind! My problem was fixed, I'm embarrassed to say, with new batteries. I had been told that the batteries in the radio were new when in fact they weren't. Thanks anyway.
Yourl calendar year may be wrong. If the calendar needs to be reset hold down the month/date & time buttons. Press the up or down button based on you have to baclward or forward.
I simply cleaned my red switch by spraying it with tuner cleaner and the problem went away (it will return in a few years and cleaning it will correct it again). The switch can only be cleaned with the radio open. A can of tuner clean/lub with a small straw will be needed.
Heh, great. I have the same problem. I LOVE this alarm clock, but I can never tell if it's 6:48 or 5:15. I've tried 4 different alarm clocks now and I keep going back to the one I can't read. I was trying to find an answer to what to do about it and came across this. Maybe there is no solution...
