You will need to obtain your wep key no matter can get it from whoever your router company is (if it is a linksys then call the linksys support number and obtain the key) in most cases thought the wep key is located on the router itself near the bar code. It will be a long number, When you get it and enter it in to the network settings then it should pick up the signal

If your internet connection doesnt use wep then change it on the ps3 so its selected as none instead of wep.

or go into your router and add a wep encryption and then put it into the ps3
weps just to protect it from random ppl using your internet

A WEP key is a password to access the wireless router. If the wireless router isn't yours, good luck. But if it is, you make the WEP when setting up your router.

WEP key is also known as your Wireless password. It is located in your Router Configuration settings. Access the default gateway of your Belkin Router and go to Wireless Settings. Look for WEP and it will provide you the WEP password to connect your PS3.

My WEP key changed and I need to enter the new one into the ps3 in order to get online. How do I do this?

In order to get to the correct screen to enter your wireless security key follow the steps below,

Turn on your playstation and go to Network Settings under Settings in the main menu.
Select Internet Connections tab and then select Yes when it gives you a disconnect warning.
Select Easy on the next screen then select Wireless for your internet connection.
Select Scan to bring up all available access points and select your home wireless access point.
Select your security settings and enter in your WEP key. Save your settings.

Afterwards, it is always good to select test connection.

Hello, unfortunately there are only two ways to perform a system software update. Via internet, or system storage device. I would advise taking it to a friend or relative's if they have wireless internet? Here is instructions on how to set up your wireless internet. On the playstation main menu, go to settings then network settings. Select wireless then select scan, select the access point you wish to use. Then check the SS-ID for the access point, select the security you wish to use. Enter the encryption key and when you have finished this a list off connections will appear. Save your settings, test the connection and confirm the connection test results. Your ready to update the console. Any further questions please feel free to ask. Thanks for using fix ya.

I'm trying to find my wep key or port number, I'm trying to connect my PS3 to the internet.

When you purchased the router, you should have run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard" to configure the router, to set an SSID, to set an encryption-level (use 'WPA' not 'WEP'), and to set a password (WPA-key or WEP-key or pass-phrase).

Use those values that you used when you configured your router to configure your PS3.

I dont know my wep key for my psp

If you are trying to connect to a wireless network using your PSP, what you need is the WEP for the wireless network.

If you are using a home wireless network you would need to ask the person who set the WEP key.

Or, you could go to the wireless router, and there should be a little reset place to push with a pin. Press it, hold it for twenty seconds or so, and then go onto a computer connected to the wireless router and enter in the MAC address that you should be able to find on the bottom of your router on a little sticker.or if that is not found, you can do a search on your wireless router's MAC address on the internet. Just do a search in Google or Bing or whatever for the wireless router model and look for the router's web address.

Enter that address (which should look like a format) into the address bar on the Internet Browser. You will be taken to your router's webpage where you can change that information. You sign on as Admin, usually there is no need for a password after a hardware reset, and you should see a security setting option. Select the WEP or WPA setting and enter in your own key. Write it down, because if you have any other computers or devices connected to the wireless router they will all need to set their internet secuirty protocol to that new key or they will not be able to access the internet.

Go into your PSP Network settings and go through the options, enter in your new key, and bam! Your there. :)

Or you SHOULD be.

If you are in a new area, you will need to know their key or hope you are in a place with unrestricted access. :)

(If you didnt know, If you have a PS3 you can connect to it REMOTELY through your PSP if you register them together, and watch movies downloaded to your PS3, listen to music, look at your pictures, about everything but play games that you have on your PS3. From just about anywhere in the world that you have internet access through your PSP and your PS3 is connected. But that's a different matter! ;) )

wep key or router administrative password?
if you have router admin password, you just go to your router settings and reset, delete all WEP key setting
(i assume one that connect to your router is only the PS3)
The setting should be web-based.
connect a pc to your router using LAN/ethernet port.
Access the router (you should know the router
ip address) via IE ex:
Read your router manual for details.
