Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Error 1517 still thriving--cartridges have been removed and reinserted, now what?

My office jet 6110 all-in-one started to print, jammed, and now is repeatedly saying "remove and check cartridge." On the computer I got error 1517 for every maintenance utility I tried. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I've tried removing and reinserting both cartridges. I also tried turning the printer off and on, as well as removing the cartridge, turning it off, then turning it on, and reinserting the cartridge. I've tried hitting the menu key on the printer but it's not letting me go anywhere... Cartridge or printer? Thank you...

Hp office jet 7310 all in one error says check cartridge on right

Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. If the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.
If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:
1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.
2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.
3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact the HP Customer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide.
Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced.

Cartridge

Sometimes just removing the cartridge from the printer and putting it back in can solve these problems. Open the printer and remove and reinsert all print cartridges. Make sure they are secured tightly and close the lid. The cartridges may need to be replaced.

Resolving a blinking light When an error occurs, the power light will blink continuously and an error message will appear on the computer screen. Read the onscreen error message explaining the problem and follow its solution. If no error message appears, go to the Maintenance section in the Printer Assistant and click any of the four main buttons. This will prompt the software to check the status of the printer and the error message should then appear. The following table lists possible causes and what to do to correct the problem. try removing all the cartridges and restart the printer ,it will ask to install the cartridges, install them one by one and then see if it prints an alignment sheet,if it doesnt print it this way there is an option to align print cartridges in the printer drivers, goto the control panel--->printers and faxes--->rt click the printer icon and goto properties, under properties there should be an option for either maintenance or service this device button, when you click it ,it gives an option fro aligning the cartrdiges,

HP6110 All in one

When the HP Office jet series all-in-one front panel screen displays Memory Full, the HP Office jet all-in-one is not able to send, receive or forward faxes. Copying will also not work. WORKAROUND: Though the memory buffer should clear itself automatically after proceeding with the next task, like receiving a fax or starting a copy job, these suggestions below may help you clearing the memory buffer by:
  • Add paper to the HP Officejet series paper tray
  • Clear a possible print jam and proceed printing the fax.
  • Reduce the copying or faxing resolution via the front panel's menu.
  • Use the HP Manager to send a (group) fax or making a copy. More memory is available this way, as the HP Manager utilizes the PC memory. When sending a group fax, the HP Officejet all-in-one's memory is filled to capacity. To copy in color is only possible from the HP Officejet Manager.
  • Press START to clear the message. If this message persists, unplug the power cord, and after at least 15 seconds plug the power cord in.
CAUSE: The HP Officejet series memory may be full due to: Copying on Photo quality or sending a group dial, which will use an extensive part of the internal memory's capacity. No paper in the paper supply tray, while receiving a fax. This may result that the data remains in the buffer. Print jam while receiving a fax or copying. The data is still stored in the buffer. System error displayed on the HP Officejet display window. SUMMARY: The HP Officejet series will not fax or copy without sufficient memory to store the data of the page in the buffer before printing the receiving fax or the copy.

  2. Without turning off the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the all-in-one. Unplug the power cord from the power source. The power cord must be unplugged to allow the parts to be moved by hand and to reset the paper feed mechanism, without the risk of an electrical shock.
  3. Looking in through either the print cartridge access door or the output paper tray, verify that the print cartridges are locked into the carriage and have not come loose. Also verify that there are no obstructions under or around the carriage to block it from moving.
  4. Verify that the print carriage can move freely across the width of the product by gently pushing the carriage to the left and then to the right. Clear any obstructions found. You may have to reach through the output paper tray to access the print carriage.
